  1. Speaking from experience what you need to do if you really think he may go through with it is tell someone like his parents. Seeing how my parents reacted to my suicide plan made me give it up right there. When you're in the state that your friend is you think that you know how your death is going to affect everyone else, but really you don't know at all. Also like everyone said the best thing you can do is just be there for him to talk to, that really helps so much. Even just hugging him when he looks down will help a lot.
  2. I'm in the exact same boat as you. I haven't dated in about a year. Like everyone says though, when you stop looking someone is put right in front of you. It happened to me 2 weeks ago. It'll happen to you
  3. Ok first off let me say its 2:39AM here and I'm to lazy/tired to read 4 pages of replies so this may have already been said. Now, I was watching a tv show on sexuality and biochemistry etc. and what it said was that part of the reason why people are attracted to one another is because (don't ask me how we do this) we're able to tell that they have a different immune system then we do. We like people with a different immune system than us moreso than someone with an immune system that is similar to us. It all has to do with survival of the fittest. Really cool stuff.
  4. Well first off its important that getting a boyfriend isnt going to make you feel better in the long run. Sure it will feel so good at first, but if you're not feeling good about yourself to begin with the relationship will fall apart really quickly. The only way that I've found to give off good vibes is to just give them off when you feel good. If you don't feel so great than whats wrong with showing that?
  5. 1. Have you ever seriously considered committing suicide? Yes, I had a date picked out and everything 2. What led you to consider suicide? Well I fight with depression a lot and on top of that school wasnt going well and I just got my heart broken 3. What caused you to not commit suicide? A long story, but in the end hearing my mom cry on the phone when she found out. 4. Do you have any advice for anyone thinking about committing suicide? I have lots of advice but the best thing I can say to anyone thinking about committing suicide is to sit down for a second and ask them if what they're going through is really all that bad. When I did this all of the factors stated above really got put into perspective, they simply weren't worth losing my life over.
  6. Well its been a long time since I've posted on these forums and let me say its good to be back. Now I've moved off to University and things have gotten very odd with me. I've really started to question my sexuality. Before my ex and I broke up almost a year ago I was so sure that I was straight. Now I find myself looking at guys and such. I do still look at girls quite often but when ever I look and see something I like I start to feel hurt from the last girl. I know that I am attracted to some guys but I can't really see myself doing anything with another guy. One of my best friends is gay and I have felt the urge (on many occasions) to just flat out tell him I'm bi. I stop myself all the time though because I don't even know what the hell I am. What does everyone think? Advice (maybe from someone who went through the same thing)?
  7. You can't really jump to conclusions here. In regards to leaving her car somewhere because she had a few drinks, I would never doubt someone doing that. I myself I'm extremely anti drinking and driving and applaud anyone who opts for a cab instead of driving after a few drinks. I know for a fact that the costs from a Driving under the influence charge can easily amount to far more then the value of someones car. As for seeing the guys car out front of her house. That is very suspicious yes, but once again you can not jump to conclusions. Perhaps they met for a drink or two and once again she left her car at where ever it was they met and got a ride home with him. He may have just stopped in for a few minutes. Seeing as you only drove by you are not getting the entire story. Dealing with the text message situation. Text messages are a very bad way to communicate something important to someone, because you lose a lot of information by putting your emotions into text on a cellphone screen. The reason why she may not have replied is because she is angry at you for assuming that she is cheating. Or simply because the way you worded it made it sound like things were over between you two. Personally I think you acted far to quickly and jumped to conclusions before you had all the information. I suggest calling her and talking things out with her before this thing gets any worse.
  8. Just do what ever you like, if it's really a big huge deal with the girl then you can change it.
  9. I'm confused about the two condom thing between you two but I'm going to throw in some useful knowledge I picked up regarding that. Using 2 condoms is actually more risky then using one. This is because the friction caused by both condoms rubbing on each other could cause them to tear or break. Also you or your partner can come out with a nasty rash type thing after using 2 condoms.
  10. Be careful of that my friend. It is true that when we lose something we always want it more then when we had it. However this can backfire on you. Keep your guard up on this one, don't accept her feelings so easily at this point.
  11. Of course she is thinking of you. After every break up, once me and my exes start to talk again the subject of "did you ever think about me after we broke up?" comes up. Time and time again the ex tells me that she was thinking of me a lot and in certain cases the ex even keeps all the stuff I gave her (one still has stuff that I gave her in grade 7 and that was 6 years ago now.) So my point is that yes she is thinking of you, I promise you that. She just doesnt want to show it to you because she is afraid that you'll turn into some clingy thing that she'll have to put up with. That or shes just to proud to show it. Either way you should try to act the same way towards her, try to pretend that you're not thinking of her and that everything is fine and dandy in your life now that she's more or less out of the picture. So don't call her.
  12. It all comes down to personal likes and dislikes. Some Caucasians like Asians, some don't. It's just the way that it goes.
  13. I agree with the above post. I used to stratch myself because I had no knife around and I still looked at that as cutting.
  14. Well I wouldn't answer unless they told me why they were asking. People always have a motive behind asking questions.
  15. Well I wont be moving back to my home city until this summer (I'm going to university here) and she wont be moving up here because shes still in school. I wish girls would just make sense
  16. Ok so heres the story so far I dated a girl last year and we broke up. I loved her with all my heart and the feelings were returned from her. We didn't really talk for a while and now I've moved to another city and we are talking a lot. When I went back to the city shes in I saw her and the first thing she did was give me a big hug, which was kind of unusal for her. We talk online about every second day. We talk on the phone about once or twice a week. I still have feelings for her and I can't figure out if she still has feelings for me. When ever we talk we usually get into situations where we talk about our relationship. She talks about the good times that we had together and told me that she wont ever regret any of it or forget the times we shared. She even has started to say things like "you know you love me" which is how she got me to tell her that I really did love her the first time. I really don't know what to do here. Should I just take a risk and let my feelings for her be known, or should I subtley probe her feelings? Any help is very welcome.
  17. I know what it's like to be stressed out at your age. I went retarded with stress at the end of last year, trying to pull off good enough grades to get into university and dealing with a bad break up. I contemplated my own death for a long time and then someone contacted the school councilor and he gave me some good advice to deal with stress. Just try to remember that usually things that are causing you stress are superficial, like me with my grades and loosing a girl. Most stressful things are only stressful because we make them stressful to us. I don't know if grades a stressful thing for you but the councilor asked me "whats the worst that could happen if you don't get into university?" and after thinking about it for a second I realized that nothing bad could come of it. So I would have to take a few upgrading classes, but eventually if I wanted in I could get in. The things we stress ourselves over very rarely could end killing us.
  18. While I can't offer the abundance of advice posted above. I can offer some advice speaking from experience on this subject. I had frequent thoughts of suicide a while ago and then a breakup sent me over the edge. I planned out my death to the minute and came very close to going through with my plan. until someone essentially saved me from going through with it. Before this all happened I never really thought about the possible emotional after effects of planning my own death. It still brings me to tears to think about how close I came and all the things I would have missed out on (even in these past few months) and remembering when my mom found out and I talked to her and she was crying on the phone. So just remember this, no matter how bad life is things always get better. Someone once told me a story when I was in the depths of despair. Life is like a mountain range, with peaks and valleys. When you're at a good point in your life you're up at the top of the mountain, its very beautiful but there isn't really much to do or learn up at the top. When you're at a low point in your life you're in one of the valleys, you feel like you'll never make it up the next mountain. However down in the valleys is where all the life is and where you learn about yourself and discover new things.
  19. Something very helpful to me that my councilor told me a while ago is "What's the worst that can happen?" I find I regret more the things I didn't do then the things I did. So just giv'er and ask her to the dance.
  20. Well there is no safe way to doing the friends with benifits. Someone always has some feelings pop up because quite frankly you can't have sex with someone unless you feel something towards them, unless you're a sicko. All sex does is make those hidden emotions pop up and end up hurting one of the parties involved. I personally think its a bad idea. If you were the person who got dumped then it could end up hurting you more.
  21. I'm pretty sure that there is a patient - doctor confidentiallity law dealy that the doctors have to abide by. Anyways, I know exactly where you're coming from because I was there about 6 months ago. Lost, confused, depressed, scared and worst of all I couldn't think of any way to open up to anyone. I never thought my parents would understand the way I was feeling (I was very suicidal) because my mother sometimes posed the rhetorical question "how could anyone ever kill themselves?" But I was thrown into telling my parents becasue someone found out that I was planning on killing myself and told the school councilor. He then phoned my mother and let her in on how I was feeling. Let me tell you from experience, having your parents know really helps because you have someone you know that you can trust by you everystep of the way, no matter how long it takes to pull you through. I know you think that your parents will think that you're "crazy" but I'm pretty sure that if it got brought up in a serious manner they would take it seriously and do everything in thier power to help pull you through this tough time in your life. The thought of loosing a child to suicide is every parents worst nightmare. Don't forget that.
  22. I'm assuming that you're thinking of questions to ask on a first date. In which case asking about politcal views aswell as religious views can totally destroy the date. I find the absolute best questions to ask are simply ones that are totally directed at the person because lets face it, everyone loves talking about themselves.
  23. First off let me say this. Do not give either of the advice concerning their relationship, it will only put you in a worse position. Unless you're telling them to work on things (but only if you honestly feel like they should otherwise don't say anything.) Having said that, I would give this guy friend of yours a good tongue lashing for what he did and let him know that you aren't to happy with him. Also just try to be there for the girl if she needs to talk, but like i said before do not give her advice on what to do in the relationship (for example if she asks something along the lines of "do you think i should leave him?" just tell her that you can't help her make that choice, it has to be up to her.) Only they can work it out.
  24. Well let me first adress the issue of movie on the weekend. I read on here a while back that anything other then a yes is a no so try not to get your hopes up for a date on the weekend. Secondly I wouldn't advise you to send that letter to her on her birthday with her birthday present. You're running a big risk of offending her by trying to get her back with her birthday present. Maybe wait a week to send that letter and such. Thats all i have to say
  25. Very well said. However there is a fine line between being proud and too proud. I would like to say that an confidant image is a very good and attractive (ladies will have to confim this!) thing to convey.
