  1. I'm sorry to here about your situation. I recently lost my father due to cancer. During that time, I had recently started dating my current boyfriend and I was disappointed in the way that he acted towards me during that time. However, I was hoping to have a relationship with him that could continue into the future... So, why does it matter how this man reacts to your situation as long as he is not totally mean/cruel/inhuman (since you don't take him seriously). He may simply not know how to react to your situation or not know where he stands.
  2. Way too long. You should know within a few weeks a month TOPS if you want to have a relationship with someone (be exclusive). As far as engagement and marriage--- that varies drastically. But since I'm here writing this, I think if you are over 24 years old... You should only date someone for 3 years TOPS (that is if you do want to end up married).
  3. Let the guy pursue you.
  4. I'll respond to the question regarding "Is it cheesy"?? Be yourself! If you want to dance, dance. Be confident. That is the most important. No one can say that you are cheesy if you have confidence.
  5. More great things will come your way. Just don't forget the lessons you learn today. You must be the man and pay for it. I'm 25, but my brother is in high school and broke as a joke. He is an "ump" for baseball... and has spent everything he has earned on prom. Now, I do feel bad that he has to do this--- but it is also a good heads up for him in the future. Lesson learned: Women are expensive (even the ones who aren't after ya for your money).
  6. You deserve more. Women are not built to be happy with these types of relationships.
  7. Guys say that they love it. However, I wouldn't do it. Why? Guys want to chase the girl. Everyone thinks something is worth more if it costs more--- and it dating-- the "cost" is the time and energy, etc. However, if you like someone look your best and give off that single vibe. Depending on your situation, you can always spread the word through mutual friends that you think he is hot. I'm simply against taking on the traditional "man" role in certain aspects of dating. Men need to feel many, needed, and need to chase the you until you finally give in and grace him with your presense.
  8. Attraction is necessary for a relationship. It's not about looks per se, its about physical features that make you wanna jump their bones. I think men require more physical attraction than women do. But that does help you with your question. If I was her, I would want to be with a guy that was super attracted to me. She deserves that. You deserve that.
  9. No sure way. Love is all about taking chances. I'd watch for signs early on that she has not moved on. Does she talk about him? That's a bad sign and I would steer clear. Why did their relationship end? That may shed some light.
  10. My opinion is that in this day in age--- we spend all our time at work. Where else are we supposed to meet someone? It's a plus also, because you get to know someone without "dating"-- how cool is that? However, I would not recomend you starting a relationship with this woman unless you could see yourself marrying her. WHAT? Yes that's right. There are plently of women who are not co-workers you can date and have enjoyable momments with. If this relationship does not work out, you just might ruin her career if she can't stand to see the sight of you or vice versa. Keep your hands off unless you see something serious... if you really think she is the best off them all... I'd go for it. Be prepared for all the nasty ramifications if it does not work out. Good luck
  11. There is no answer to this question. A drunk text will not shed insight into your relationship. Look to everything else you know about your boyfriend and your time together. That is where the answer is.
  12. YES stop. If you know your behavior freaks people out... dont do it. Then, after you have him as your boyfriend, you can joke about how you wanted to text him a million times a day. Everyone gets feelings like that. It's normal. Just put the brakes on it. It's fine to let him know HOW you feel. Just you don't need to tell him it 100 times.
  13. Let your friends know you want to date/have a girlfriend. Spread the word. For some reason, telling people you know that you are looking... sorta helps move things along. Other tips: Be more social, be healthy, dress well. MMMMM and get a job or if you have one save money. Because my boyfriend informed me that "love is expensive."
  14. Be patient. Give her a chance. I actually told my currently boyfriend in the beginning that I wanted to bring a girlfriend with me to his house, because I didnt want to go alone. To this day he gives me such a hard time that I said this. (He was at the time really offended, because he felt he had acted like the "perfect gentleman). Well, I had so many bad experieces with nice guys turning bad-- I promised myself that I wouldn't put myself in that sometimes scarey other times just plain uncomfortable situation of miscommunication (the guy thinks I'm coming over to get physical and I just think it's a movie date). The fact that she is overweight may be a factor. She may have been seduced before and left high and dry. (I have many overweight girlfriends that are booty-calls for guys that are too ashamed or too whatever to make them their girlfriends.... ). Whatever her reason is for being contradictory should surface soon. It seems obvious that she likes you. She is also 21 years old and may not have experience dating or having boyfriends. Give her a chance!
  15. You did the right thing by dumping him. Next time, don't have sex before you are exclusive. It makes things much less confusing. P.S. Guys tend to want to make girls their girlfriends who don't sleep with them easily. They tend to think that you are not a * * * * and havent slept with many men if you do this. Honey, I'm not saying that you are any of the above. It's just that a majority of men think like this---so use it to your advantage.
  16. I'd dump him because he watches too much TV. But, I'm hardcore like that.
  17. Yes, sometimes women say that they need space or that they just got out of a difficult relationship AND the translation is: "I dont want to date you, ever." On the other hand, sometimes women who say those things literally means that they need space and just got out of a difficult relationship. I said the latter to my current boyfriend when I first met him two years ago. He left me alone. We ran into eachother a year later, and I was in the same damn situation (I had just broken up with a loser)... except this time I wasnt going to pass him up...and I sucked it up (even though I would have totally loved it if he had given me some time to re-group). But honestly, even though I love him more than anyone and could see myself definitely marrying him... when I met him two years ago, I was not ready for a relationship with him. I needed to work out my issues with my previous relationship. I am just very lucky I got a second chance with a great guy. So, I guess all this means is that if someone is not ready, regardless of how wonderful YOU are, there really isnt anythin you can do but tell her how you feel. If she can't reciprocate within a reasonable amount of time-- chalk it up to bad timing and move on.
  18. Go hold a hand of a girl that wants to. Don't be pathetic.
  19. If you want to be married someday-- shut the door. I'd still shut the door anyways.
  20. Wait to get engaged and be married. Love eachother hard now. If you truly KNOW you want to get married, you shouldn't feel the need to marry soon. (Because you KNOW you will anyway).
  21. Frankly, I'd cut her loose. You should never be scared of hearing from your loved one. I was in the same position as you in the past. Your girlfriend may truly love you, but you may need something else... which doesnt mean either of you are wrong. I am very happy to see that guys can feel the same way girls can. It's refreshing. Now, you deserve a girl who is anxiously awaitng your email! But, as I know, we all must live and learn. I really hope you get good news from her.
  22. I think it really depends on if he wants to marry you. If he wants to marry you, he will make it work. I am in a LDR and I don't like LDRs. I am doing it because I have a perfect relationship (no issues) except for the fact that I hate LDR. I do it because I see him every weekend and have an amazing time, I can trust him, and I'd consider marrying him. Both people have to be on-board for it to work and really want the relationship. It could be a good test to see if your relationship is just one of convienance. And trust me, it's better to find out now at 9 months--- then 2 years later. Hope you find happiness.
  23. I agree with all the posts. 1 1/2 hours is not far. I've been in two LDR : One 3 hours away and the current 4. We both work very hard during the week and see eachother on weekends. I prefer same-city relationships, but what can you do when you meet someone special? I think we see eacother more than some couples that live in the same city. I'd go for it. Nothing to loose but your car's resale value.
