  1. You said "The older generations seem to say, "He must be avoiding you because he's afraid his partner is going to be jealous that he's contacting/hanging out with a female" ----how does this reflect a homophobic attitude?
  2. I really feel that there should be NO person contact between a student and teacher, even if it is not romantic. Teachers are not there to be a student's friend: They are there to teach. They are not there to be a friend, or a parent, or a bf/gf...they are there to teach and lead as an example. Like for me, there have been teachers who have shown a special interest in me....i feel really uncomfortable about this, esp. when its a female teacher. A teacher is there to teach, not be a friend. If a student doesn't have friends, then that teacher should help the student find friends...not be their friend. Teacher and student "friendships" spells disaster.
  3. I think that cigerettes are a drug, and i think they should be criminalized. Like how can cigerette makers manufacture a product that they know we kill people, and still not face justice in a criminal court. Civil penalties are not enough. I want to see all cigerette makers in a criminal court, being tried for the millions of people they have killed. Weed isn't as bad as cigerettes. Atleast it doesn't kill people. Its important to help those who are addicted to various drugs, rather than just them.
  4. "1. Why do you want to get married? What makes marriage so much different than just being in a serious and committed relationship? (aside from the financial aspect)" --There are numerous reasons why I want to get married. Firstly, I am a very romantic person and I couldn't ever imagine myself NOT spending the rest of my life with someone I loved. Secondly, marriage is a stable and continual commitment, and thats something I really need in my life. I mean, I keep going from school to school, from college to college, and I make friends for a couple of months, and then I rarely see them again. I want stability. I want to know there will be always be one person who is there for me and who will always be my friend. "2. What types of qualities would you absolutely require in order to going that extra mile and saying "I do"?" ----There are seven criteria I have set out that the girl I marry must meet: A. Have similar (not the same) values, attitudes, and ideals as me. B. Someone who loves me with ALL her heart, and who will never leave me. Someone I love with all my heart, and who I would never leave. C. Someone who is happy and thinks positively. D. Someone who is caring, esp. toward poor people. E. Someone who is romantic. F. Someone who is responsible and mature. G. Someone who is humble but confident. "3. What do you think it takes to make a marriage work?" ---Married couples need to communicate. They should find atleast one hour each day in which they can just talk to each other and share to each other how they think and feel.
  5. I hated high school and I am really glad its over. For the first few months you will really miss high school, but as time goes by it will all become a distant memory. For me, I rarely think about high school. Now and then I run into people I met at high school, and its really nice to see them. But high school really isn't an important part of your life. When you can work full time and be financially independent, thats REAL LIVING!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. Drugs in themselves are not really harmful, but most people do them to escape the pain of life. In that way they are very harmful, because drugs allow a person to escape reality and live in a fantasy world, rather than finding a real way to deal with thier problems. Its important to remember that a drug can be more than just mushroom, weed, cocaine, ect. A drug can also be alchol, tobacco, television, pornography, or anything else that tries allows a person to escape reality so they don't have to couragously face thier problems and defeat them. When a person starts doing drugs, its very sad, and I don't think that person should be judged. Instead, they really need some help. They need someone who will be thier friend and counsellor, and who will have the courage to speak the truth to them. This is true of people who are religious and those who are not religious.
  7. Its true that you can't prevent someone having romantic feelings, but there is a difference between having those feelings and acting on them. Maybe some teachers do have romantic feelings for thier students. There is nothing wrong with that. Its natural. But they must not act on those feelings, even if it is not in a sexual way. There is a difference between having romantic feelings (which is natural) and acting on them. "all humans with feelings, and it wouldnt be wrong then. Just becasue he is a teacher, it doesnt mean he doesnt have feelings"
  8. When I am really frustrated, I just start day dreaming to calm down. I think about the future, about my future careers, where I will live, finding a wife, and all sorts of things. I have never thought about cutting. As I said in another post, I wonder where the idea of cutting comes from in the first place. I mean, I have gone through some really dark days, but the idea of cutting myself has never crossed my mind. However, I do sometimes scratch designs into my skin, though its for "entertainment" than to release pain. When you feel the need to cut, try just thinking about your future and the good things ahead. Also, remove yourself from the opportunity to cut (ie. get rid of any knives you have access to). Good luck
  9. Rilas, even if there is no sexual activity or no sexual motive, it is still wrong. The teacher is someone in authority, and has power over thier student. They should not do anything to abuse that power, even if it feels romantic. Also, they should be better educated and know better to get involved with a student in any way.
  10. In all the forums I have read (admitly I haven't read them all) I have found that all the people who say they cut are female. Are there any male cutters out there? Are people who cut more likely to be female? WHy?
  11. I have never heard of anyone doing that. It sounds kinda weird. And very wrong, though some people seem to think its fun. Before my wedding day, I would probably just sleep. You need it for the day ahead.
  12. ask your doctor for professional advise
  13. ask your doctor. And read respected medical journals. If you ask non professionals about your medical questions, you are likely to get poor (and possibly dangerouse) answers
  14. I would NEVER wear pink!!!!!!!!!!!11
  15. Try friendster. link removed
  16. They sound like some of my guy friends. LOL!~! [ They are like teenage girls who talk horribly behind each others' backs, yet still hang out and act like best friends.
  17. If people find out you lied to them about your age, they might begin to think that you lied to them about other things too (even if you didn't). Its hard to rebuild trust after someone has willfully lied to you. Just find an appropriate opportunity to mention your age.
  18. I will never enjoy life being single. I mean, I am not going to be miserable while being single, but neither will I accept it as my destiny. I don't like being single.
  19. You're best therapist is yourself. Only you can really understand how you feel. Only you know what would be the best for you. Remember that you are your own therapist, even if you go to see another therapist also.
  20. Is race ever a factor when you try to find a partner? Do you prefer people of your own race, or people of different races?
  21. I have met many people in Asia on the internet and I have found that they really are no different than people in the West. At first I thought there would be huge culture clashes, but as I got to know them I found they are more or less just the same as people here. Everyone all around the world really is more or less the same, and culture is but a set of clothing. Just likes clothes don't make "the man" (the person), culture does not make the person. We are all the same.
  22. ya and its mean to the sheep!!!!!!!! hmmm.....i don't know....just try to forget about it. I mean, there is no reason to remain angry over Christmas and not enjoy yourself!!!!!!!!
  23. I sometimes spend too much time day dreaming than writing essays. I know, its hard to stay motivated.
  24. Maybe you should send your friend a piece of coal. I read in the newspaper about a woman who was mad at her teacher so she sent her teacher a cut off sheeps head for her birthday. LOL
