  1. Not true again. When you're on a low calorie diet your body not only uses it's fat stores up, but it also begins to break down lean tissue and use that for energy to. So your lean muscle mass will decrease. If you start eating "normally" as you put it you then start to replace that missing lean mass with fat so you basically increase your body fat percentage. As for advocating a low calorie diet....well....erm......you obviously haven't read my journal. Ha ha ha!
  2. No, you're right. I don't. And you don't know what mental "torture" people who commit suicide are going/went through. I'm not looking for an argument. I'd just like you to acknowledge that it isn't always black and white and that it's not very nice to label people with such severe mental health problems as cowards. Sometimes that's the only possible way they see out of their "mental torture". It doesn't make them cowards or selfish. It makes them mentally ill and misguided. You wouldn't label someone with the same intensity of physical pain a wimp would you?
  3. Well, I hope you never become mentally ill/unstable and find yourself in a situation you perceive as being impossible to come back from.
  4. Thats just what people say when they want to try and manipulate/scare someone into eating more calories. The reason that your metabolism slows down is because on a low calorie diet you lose weight and as you lose weight your metabolism naturally slows down because your body doesn't need to work as hard to move around ect. Once you put on weight again your metabolism increases naturally. That's why, as you get smaller you need to do more exercise and reduce your intake more if you want to continue losing weight.
  5. There is an element of courage to suicide. Do you know just how difficult it is to work against the body's natural survival instinct? Well, it's pretty much the hardest thing there is to do. So to actually get past that takes a bit of courage. Which is why men tend to succeed more than women...they choose more extreme and violent methods than women. Women attempt more but don't succeed because they choose the less aggressive methods. I'm not pro suicide but I'm not anti suicide either. I wouldn't condemn or label those that attempt or succeed as selfish because.....a) I don't know what I would do if I was in their shoes, b) Those people are mentally unstable and are thereforeeee unable to comprehend the consequences of their actions, and c) Well, it's just not a very nice thing to say.
  6. What is it, exactly, that you do want?
  7. That's clever isn't it? Treat someone else badly because someone treated you badly....just perpetuate the negative cycle of scorn and hatred then. Whatever happened to staying true to your morals?
  8. It's surprising because I've experienced similar scorn and contempt and bad treatment from men but I don't hate the whole gender because I'm smart enough to know that there "are" good guys out there.
  9. Some of the things that you people have come out with in this thread just shocks me. The way you describe the opposite sex makes it seem like you hate them.
  10. I had it once and vomited so violently that I fainted. I hope you don't get it.
  11. Don't eat anything until your stomach feels better. If you keep throwing food up you'll put your electrolytes out of balance so keep yourself nil by mouth until you're pretty sure you're not going to just chuck it all up again. And start with dry toast or plain biscuits and just nibble on them to "test the waters".
  12. Greenstick fractures of the collarbone normally heal within a couple of weeks. I would think that all she'll need is her arm in a sling to reduce movement for a week or so. Greenstick basically means it's broken only on one side, like when you bend a green stick until it breaks....it normally only splits on one side doesn't it? hence the name greenstick fracture.
  13. Yeah Panadol is just the brand name for paracetamol. Lucozade is a fizzy energy drink containing glucose syrup and caffeine. It helps settle the stomach in many cases. If you have a stomach bug you should start to feel better within 48 hours.
  14. You don't need to see a doctor unless your symptoms worsen and by worsen I mean you can't physically get out of bed, you haven't kept any fluids down for over 48hrs, your temperature increases to abnormal levels or your breathing is affected. There aren't any meds the dr will prescribe for flu or flu like symptoms except the normal everyday over the counter stuff like paracetamol. Proper flu will take up to three weeks to recover from. A bad cold a week to a week and a half. If you suspect some kind of infection (chest, uti ect) then see your dr if symptoms don't improve after 72 hours. Oh, and see your dr sooner if you're asthmatic.
  15. Fluids (water, lucozade) Rest Regular Paracetamol If you can get up and walk to the bathroom without feeling like you need to stop and rest half way there and then lie down when you get there it's not flu.
  16. Eww....I hate getting naked. I haven't been naked in front of ANYONE for over a year. Sometimes I shower in the dark because I don't even want to subject my sensitive eyes to the horror that is my body. I hate communal changing rooms, I hate clothes shop changing rooms, I hate stripping at the Dr's surgery and I never go to beauty salons for treatments because you always have to take something off. With my ex-boyfriend I used to insist that the lights were off, and I'd spend the whole time sucking my stomach in and I always, always got dressed immediately after and even used to steal the blanket to cover myself in if I went to the bathroom. Sometimes I even tried to get him to let me keep my top on or keep the covers over us.
  17. She might have had past experiences where she's ended up paying for everything and is so fed up with that, that she wants to be spoiled now. I've had that experience, where boyfriends have just freeloaded off me (because I'm an idiot and let them) and now if I get asked out and go on a date I've decided that I'm not going to pay a penny. Not on the first date anyway. Edit: Although I wouldn't go on a first date that involved food (a guy watching me eat....I couldn't think of anything worse thanks) so it probably isn't that a big deal.
  18. "Oh woe is me, it was all a hilarious joke, how could you have be so thick as to not have seen, oh I am sooooo hurt and upset by this, blah blah blah" How very clever of him to make some half baked attempt at manipulating you into doubting yourself. He is an utter fool and deserves no more of your time.
  19. Tie him up. Ravish him as fast or as slow as you want.
  20. Why do you need to be attracted to guys? 1. They don't smell as nice as girls. 2. They give you stubble rash 3. They can ruin your day with a throwaway comment 4. They're messy 5. They don't appreciate a nicely wrapped gift. You're attracted to who you're attracted to. It's not something you can change. You can try and force yourself to be atracted to someone but it'll only make you unhappy. It's okay to be a bit confused. Being a teenager is a confusing time. Just go with your flow and see where it takes you.
  21. Girls ARE annoying. We do weird things that make you question what the hell is going on in that limited spacial awareness brain of hers. The basic truth is girls like things to look pretty and they like to be told that things they create look pretty. And they also like to wrap gifts in rediculous ways and spend fortunes on sparkly bows and shiny ribbon despite the fact that men do not appreciate this in the slightest because at the end of the day it's just more rubbish that your garbage man isn't going to take away. And maybe, just maybe, she still has a little spark for you and wanted to make you smile.
