Talk About Spontaneous!

Well guys after all my talk on my thread about how I'm better off by myself, blah blah, I have a date tonight!  

In fact I'm leaving in a few to meet him down the street at a popular local pub.  

I met him on the elevator today; he's super tall, good looking (to me), he has a bit of a man bun, which I never really liked on a guy, but looks good on him.  With him was a BIG dog and the dog seemed to like me, jumping on me etc, so that's how we got to talking. 

He mentioned HH from 4:00 - 7::00, told me to stop by, he'd buy me a drink and I smiled and said without even thinking about it "sure, they've got great nachos too"! 

He smiled at me as he got off the elevator and said "see ya soon." 😉

So not really a formal date, and heck, we never even exchanged names, but I was in a good mood so I figured, why the heck not. 

I know I probably shouid have played a little hard to get and told him I was busy, but I'm so tired of "rules" and what "proper" dating is.

He seemed so cool and so relaxed, he made ME feel relaxed.

Glad you didn't do this, as above sod rules. If someone did that I would just say to myself OK I shot my shot but they are not interested, then move on. You did exactly the right thing accepting the invitation as you never know you could have a really great evening with a nice stranger 🙂 Good luck!

OMG, thanks guys!  I don't have much time right now, but a brief update, we had a great time! 

The pub was packed and he noticed me immediately when I walked in, like he was looking/waiting for me!

We sat at the bar, ordered drinks and he had already ordered the nachos; he eventually asked if I play pool, I said not really but would love to learn! 

I said it in a cute flirty way, he laughed and then proceeded to stand behind me at the pool table and show me, and man there was definitely something happening.

He walked me home and admitted something to me about when he first saw me on the elevator which I may share with y'all later if we continue to see each other.  I don't mean to be so elusive but it was kinda personal.  But it didn't put me off at all. 

Anyway, the whole way home I was shaking like a leaf, and when we got to my gate, we looked at each other and he kissed me.

I had to look up at him because he's just so damn tall!  I mean really tall like maybe 6'4"?   I'm not used to that tall, an ex was 6'1" but most of my ex-boyfriends and ex-hubs were around 5'10ish. 

He asked me if I was busy on Sunday, I said no plans yet, he said very matter of factly, like he's just SO sure of himself but not in an arrogant way - "cool, be ready at noon, I have a plan."

So that's it, the condensed version of it anyway.   

So strange how things happen sometimes isn't it?  I mean just two days ago I was all set to be on my own, no romantic entanglements or drama, and then out of the blue, this man with a big dog walks into the elevator.

We shall see.  😀

I never met any men I had relationships with on a dating site. I met them "organically".

Sounds like a fun time !  Enjoy the next date!  I dated a man who is 6”3 for several months. Thankfully he had a sunken living room so we could kiss properly. Back when I used to wear heels. I’m 5”2!

And not swimsuit weather ! I went to many black tie events in my 30s especially so I had and still have lovely dresses and shoes, jewelry etc. one of my boyfriends tied his own bow tie !  Really fun.
