  1. I was standing there dumbfounded. I mean, I know it's good to be careful right now...in fact it's imperative. But I do feel she went OTT. I was thinking to myself.."Is this real life?" It's like a bad movie.
  2. So, there are no cases in my city at the moment. And the mail person had a parcel for me. She placed the pick up notice in the mailbox but I had seen her and went to let her know that I was home if she wanted to drop it off. Honestly, you'd think I was poisonous. She literally ran away, yelling "that they were told not to get close to people" and "she's sorry but she can't give me my parcel". Grrrr, now I have to go down to the depot and try to get it.
  3. I know it's tough Seraphim (((hugs))). I think all of us are considering all the possible scenarios but none of us know how it's going to go and it might not be even half as bad as our minds make it out to be. Try and keep the faith. I hope you get a good sleep tonight.
  4. It's okay. Try to think calm thoughts. The mind plays tricks and think of the worst case scenarios. They aren't true. Take a deep breathe in. Hold for 3 second, release slowly. Take another deep breathe in. Release. Everything is okay.
  5. Lol, this brought about a mental picture of someone beating someone with a baseball bat.."You will listen!!"...sorry, in a weird mood right now. Typed word assault *ducking for cover* Thanks, Bolt. I am at the place of my cold/flu where it feels all gone, then I wake up blocked up. Then it settles down and then I am sneezing..ugh. It's at the end but is reeeeeally hanging on. Hope you're feeling better too.
  6. I'm going to try to shut most of it off too, it's causing anxiety. I've already deactivated Facebook and I will only look at my local news paper once a day, to keep informed. Other than that, I will try to turn the rest of it off.
  7. Thank you for creating this thread, Seraphim. It's helpful to read others thoughts on this. You walked 5 km? Awsome! I'm so glad you're feeling well enough to do that. FIO, I hear ya, I am a bit of a germ-o-phobe too and although I do have a few Lysol wipes, I know they won't last long and not much chance right now of buying more. But..just gotta do what you can, right? I'm glad that you found some bleach though. TWT, omg, can you believe the madness of it all? I have my socks on standby..lol. Have we really gotten this depraved? Lawdy. But glad you'll be getting some bum wipe soon. Bolt, am getting over a bad head cold too. Staying home (just in case). Lucky I have that option. I hope you feel better soon. Grandy, me too....yes, me too. My husband and I had ideas ages ago on what could have happened/should have happened that would have stopped things from getting this out of hand. You really just have to shake your head at it all. In my humble opinion, I don't feel it needed to get this out of hand. So many things could have stopped it before it got to this point. Even now I am wondering why the stores are not putting limits on items to stop one person from having cases of things and another person to having nothing. Sigh. All we can do is take it one day at a time, right?
  8. 100% agree, Wiseman and Bolt. The patting oneself on the back for what they do and how they do it, to the degree of making others on this forum upset and annoyed, is uncalled for. Sigh, what can you do? Shame for the OP who now can't get further replies that are actually helpful. I'm fairly sure I know which thread you're referring to. It's not the first time. But, move on I guess. I also had a bad head cold and considered if it was something more, but the worst is over now and I did stay home(lucky I was able to). Hope you're feeling better, Bolt.
  9. So, I read an article about a man and his wife who were buying literally cases and cases of Lysol wipes, kleenex, etc. And reselling them on Amazon at four times the price. Firstly, what kind of despicable human beings profit off of an outbreak, and secondly, what is wrong with the shops that they allowed these people to stroll in there and sold them a ridiculous amount like this?!? What burned me up the most? Their reasoning was, it was an opportunity to take advantage and so they did to help pay for their children's private school...private school no less!! These are not poor people! Grrrrrrrrrr! Some people really are the lowliest of the low. Karma.
  10. Awesome. So the blood work was all good? Has it helped with your anxiety?
  11. I believe that whether in life or in the afterlife...there will be justice.
  12. That's horrible. :( I'm so sorry you had to go through something like that. I hope he got what he deserved!
  13. I am the same when it comes to the dentist (at least to a certain degree) but my doctor has reassured me that dentists are very professional and will make sure that their patients are safe. Good god, Seraphim, I am so sorry you went through that. No person should ever have to endure that. It's honestly so commendable that you went through things like that and instead of becoming bitter or broken, you rose above and are helping people Truly inspiring.
  14. Crossing fingers that your appointments go okay today. Update us on the results. As for the dentist, no worries at all. They will take good care of you.
  15. I remember the gall bladder surgery...not nice at all. It took me weeks before I felt anything like myself. Be gentle with yourself, it takes time. I'm sorry to hear that things are going not the best with you and your partner. It's neither one of your faults. Sickness can make it a tough go. Hope you get better soon. :)
  16. He's your friend, Kim. He thinks you and he are roomates. :)
  17. Sending good thoughts to you. Hope you're feeling better. Grief can be tough at times. (hugs)
  18. A sloth Halloween costume? I might have to see that!!
  19. Great point, FIO. You stayed around for 17 pages, OP, so we can't be that bad.
  20. I gotta agree with the others, I think you are focusing on such a minute detail when there are hundreds every week who are happy for our advice, thoughts, etc. Say you even found 50 reviews...well try to compare that with how many come here and keep coming back. There are new posts everyday and lots of repeat posters. You can see how many posts each one of us has responded to, so it literally is thousands of people. I really do think you're stirring a pot that doesn't need stirring. No site is perfect but the advisors on this site do their best and mean well. At the end of the day, for a free site, that is the best you can ask for.
  21. I googled and found less than 10 reviews. Maybe I didn't see them all? 10 bad reviews out of the hundreds that are on here every week. And people still keep coming. I'd say that's pretty good.
  22. That's right, Seraphim. We're meant to be perfect 24/7. It's just not realistic when we are humans who are doing this for free and are just giving our opinions. I've never seen any of the long time posters mean any harm. Yes, some will express things more strongly and it's more to do with tough love rather than coddling. But it's never meant to be harmful. I don't know. It really is damned if you do, damned if you don't. We do the best we can but we have bad days too and yes, some posts are triggering for us. That again is the human side in us.
