  1. The old temperature check. Yes, I have heard loads say the same..."our temperature is fine, so we don't need to wear masks", sigh. It really is frustrating, isn't it? I am watching the numbers climb higher and higher and honestly, am astounded by how many are still believing that the virus isn't real, or that we don't need to do anything about it, just live our lives and whoever gets sick, gets sick. Then there are the conspiracy theorists who believe they government is orchestrating a huge cover up and that we're being played for fools. I have tried speaking logically to a few in the comment section of the newspaper, it's useless. You can't change their minds, they refuse to budge whatsoever. The bad part? All of those people could very well make this pandemic very, very bad this winter and many lives could be lost. It scares me. Really glad that you're safe though, Batya..zero risk is awesome. Yes, the decisions we make right now are crucial, so we have to be so careful. Even so, like everyone else, I so badly want 'normal' back again. :(
  2. Our city is bad as well with the numbers twice as high as they were when people felt it was bad, back in March/April. But people don't seem to care this time around like last time..does anyone else notice that? They aren't taking it as seriously and are being far more careless.
  3. Ah, I missed ya, Pippy...I was sawing Z's...lol. I will reply to your pm right away here. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
  4. I'm sorry for you and Arnolds loss. :( That's so sad. I know death is a natural part of life, but it never gets any easier. Each time, is a pain I wished none of us had to endure.
  5. Damn. :( I hope your back sorts itself out soon. Yes, hoping Wednesday gets here quickly!
  6. I hear ya on the meds front. I am the same way. I refuse anything stronger than Tylenol, unless I am in immense pain, but even then, I refuse narcotics. When I was having gallbladder attacks, I took Torodol and it worked great. It's basically a stronger version of Ibuprofen, but it's prescription only. But as far as I recall, there is no chance of addiction. Do you have a heating pad? Those have saved me many times over when I am in a lot of pain. It would be well worth it to invest in one. I couldn't live without mine. It helps my back so much when it acts up.
  7. Yes, yes, yes! Love the song, and love the video. :) I've been a Meatloaf fan since I was a teenager. Still am. The words in his love songs just get to me. Powerful.
  8. Oh no! First your knee, now your back. Damn. Are you taking any muscle relaxers or pain killers, or both? My back gives me problems sometimes too and all I can do it literally just wait it out till it settles back down again. This getting older thing, is no fun. Can we rewind back to 20 something? Or maybe just our bodies, lol.
  9. How's the knee? Has it gotten better? My foot is nearly healed, but not 100%. At least I'm not hobbling anymore.
  10. Has anyone thought in depth about what might happen long term with all of this? I spent some time really delving into it and to be honest, it got me quite depressed. The facts are, there are hundreds if not thousands who refuse to follow guidelines, refuse to use masks, refuse to take any vaccines that might come out. Also, this virus has shown to be tricky, there are cases of people being re-infected. Because of the two issues above, how do we go about mostly getting rid of this virus? (I say mostly, because as we all know a virus is never totally eradicated). History has shown that severe isolation is the most promising solution. If there are no hosts, the virus cannot keep moving and spreading. So for everyone to hunker down for a few months, might be the only chance we have. Because even if a vaccine does come out, again, hundreds, if not thousands will refuse it. Herd immunity is a no go as well, due to the re-infections. So what else is there? Sorry to be dismal. I just have spent too much time in my head these last few days really thinking all of this through and to be honest, I don't see many solutions. I also worry if this could possibly go on for years due to the two main problems above. Thoughts?
  11. That's good to hear. Hopefully it will continue to get better. This must be the month for injuries, I hurt my foot and was hobbling around for about 4 days. It's gotten better too though.
  12. Ouchie! That sounds painful. Are you able to get an x-ray to make sure there's not a hairline fracture? It's good to hear that your boyfriend is a good caretaker. :)
  13. Lol...awww, it's like waiting for the other shoe to drop. Fingers crossed this is a much better place and when people say 'thank you', they only mean 'thank you'.
  14. Focus on the achievement...you did really well!! You could have stayed home, but then it wouldn't have been a victory and this was a victory. :)
  15. That is really kind of you, so many are so desperate for a job these days. I hope he will get one. Fingers crossed.
  16. So, our numbers are going back up again. :( The bad part this time though is, that so many are fighting the guidelines, not believing that Covid is real, arguing about wearing masks or following any kind of rules. I sincerely am cringing for the next few months as to how bad it could potentially get.
  17. I am cringing to see what Christmas will be like this year. :(
  18. Listening to on a cool autumns day in a warm, peaceful, quiet house.
  19. Awww, that's no good. Crossing fingers for you that you don't get sick.
  20. Ah damn :( Sorry to hear that, bolt. It can be so frustrating with people who come to work and get others sick. With Covid going on, you'd think people would be much more responsible. Does your work not enforce it and send people home if they come in sick?
  21. I'm going to make it for my husband, he would live on pizza if he could, lol.
