  1. Dear Purple_Angel, Read what I have posted in reply to Delaurence23's mail. Cheers... Archith
  2. You are not alone in your suffering...but you don't have to suffer any more!..Read "Power of Now" by Eckhart Tolle. Eckhart was on the brink of suicide when something miraculous happened..he got enlightened!! There is a whole chapter called "Consciousness Way Out of Pain". A para from the chapter: "The pain that you create now is always some form of nonacceptance, some form of unconscious resistance to what 'is'. The intensity of pain depends on the degree of resistance to the present moment, and this in turn depends on how strongly you are identified with your mind. The mind always seeks to deny the NOW(the present moment) and to escape from it". So Delaurence, more time is NOT going to solve anything..just live in the present moment...the past is only a memory trace and the future is always going to unfold as the Now. You also need to understand how your mind - the 'voice' in your head always "comments, speculates, judges, compares, complains, likes, dislikes and so on. The voice isn't necessarily relevant to the situation you find yourself in at the time; it may be reviving the recent or distant past and rehearsing or imagining possible future situations. Here it often imagines things going wrong and negative outcomes: this is called worry. Sometimes this soundtrack is accompanied by visual images or "mental movies" ".(from the book) Dear Delaurence...you are Not your mind..the voice in your head. If you find some truth to what has been said above..read the book. Cheers... Archith
  3. Hey Haywire, Its me again. I was going thro Eckhart's book "Power of Now" and found something: "Negativity ranges from irritation or impatience to fierce anger, from a depressed mood or sullen resentment to suicidal despair." "Once you have identified with some form of negativity, you do not want to let go, and on a deeply unconscious level, you do not want positive change. It would threaten your identity as a depressed, angry, or hard-done-by person. You will then ignore, deny or sabotage the positive in your life. This is a common phenomenon. It is also insane." So, Haywire..just drop negativity like u would drop hot coal on your hands. I don't know if I am violating copyright..but I'm sure the above quotes would make u understand what's happening with u and many others. Cheers.. Archith
  4. Hi water_baby, Sorry for the late reply..you probably are feeling buoyant, better already!! I second what Michael says..well said Michael! Life will definitely get better...live each moment..this moment is the only thing that truly exists. My suggestion is to read Eckhart Tolle's "Power of Now". Check out his website link removed. Cheers... Archith
  5. Hi Haywire, I think I have posted a reply to one of your previous messages. I have had thoughts like u are having too. But then I discovered Eckhart Tolle and his book "Power of Now". The mind(or ego) just loves to compare all the time. Stop comparing and don't take your thoughts too seriously... Try link removed edited by Andrew Cohen. Its an excellent window to a spiritual world. Try visiting link removed too... Cheers.. Archith
  6. Hi Scootermojo, Don't look for a special relationship in the future to come and save you. Also, don't wait for some special event 'in the future' to happen and make you feel complete or help you overcome the feeling of inadequacy. Don't derive your sense of self and construct a "victim identity" from what has happened in the past. The past is anyway only a memory trace. In short make the present moment your focus. Remove the 'delusion' of "time". I suggest you read the book called "Power of Now" by Eckhart Tolle. Check out his website link removed. There are some excerpts from his books. I'd love to quote Eckhart in a detailed way but I might be violating copyright and I believe I have already done that once on this forum. Anyway... Cheers... Archith "Beyond happiness and unhappiness there is peace"-Eckhart
  7. Hi Jackie, You've got to forget the past. Make the present moment your focus. Do not derive your sense of self from what has happened in the past..the past is just a memory trace. I know you have gone thro' a lot but don't make a "victim identity" out of it....Read the book called the "Power of Now" by Eckhart Tolle or go to his website link removed for an introduction to his spiritual message of who you really are..you are not your mind. Stop thinking about the future too..the future always unfolds in "the Now". If u feel terrible, just stop thinking...can you do that? If not your mind is controlling you. I speak from personal experience..I am your age and I firmly believe that Eckhart's book will be revelation to anybody who is suffering...you can stop suffering..now! Regards, Archith
  8. Dear Haywire, I know of a great saint called Eckhart Tolle, who lives in Vancouver and whose book "Power of Now" is a NYTimes bestseller. His follow-up book "Stillness Speaks" is also a classic and Eckhart very lucidly talks about what's happening to you and many others who are suffering: "Almost every ego contains at least an element of what we might call "victim identity". Some people have such a strong victim image of themselves that it becomes the central core of their ego. Resentment and grievances form an essential part of their sense of self. Even if your grievances are completely "justified", you have constructed an identity for yourself that is much like a prison whose bars are made of thought forms. See what you are doing to yourself, or rather what your mind is doing to you. Feel the emotional attachment you have to your victim story and become aware of the compulsion to think or talk about it. Be there as the witnessing presense of your inner state. You don't have to do anything. With awareness comes transformation and freedom." If you feel there is some truth to what Eckhart says in the above paras, get his book "Power of Now". It contains basic spiritual truths and the most fundamental knowledge about who we(humans) are. One thing is for sure are not our minds": "You are not your story, your likes and dislikes, your fears and desires, the "I" that is never satisfied for long. This "I" is just a mind-made sense of who you are, conditioned by the past and seeking to find fulfillment in the future." I just quoted Eckhart from his book "Stillness speaks".So, if you find all these useful help others out like avman. If u or anybody else needs help, mail me at email removed. I'm 20 and live in India. I've gone through suffering too and I can relate to you. Transform yourself and help others transform too. Cheers....

  10. Hi Rainman, I am Archith from Chennai,India. I know a guy who was on the verge of suicide, but something miraculous happened to him and he happens to be(I believe) the greatest living saint today-Eckhart Tolle. Eckhart lives in Vancouver,Canada. His book called the "Power of Now" is a New York Times bestseller. Read it. It was a revelation to me. His follow-up book-"Stillness Speaks" is also superb. But get your hands onto "Power of Now" first. I'm sure you can shake off the ideas of suicide. I recommend this book to all the people on this planet. If you(or any other member of these forums) find the book useful, then I implore you to recommend it to others who are in trouble. Cheers....
