I know what you mean I feel much the same about society! But being part of a band is very attractive to alot of girls. Do you play at any venues? A guy I know who was awful with women came home with several phone numbers after playing with his band in a few places. Apart from that the best thing you can do is start concentrating on the person you're talking too, people love to talk about themselves. You can get out of the shy label and into the good listener area, girls love that.

I'm very confused at the moment. I'm on the final year of my degree in journalism/writing and I don't really want to get into the industry anymore. I felt this way half way through but carried on because I had come so far so thought I might aswell finish. Everyone on my course is so enthusiastic and shocked that haven't begun an important project. I continually drift from one career aspiration to another. I have just been at college/uni so far in my life and horrible part time jobs. I dread the idea of working but I know I need to! I really love wildlife and conservation but I don't want to start yet another course. Does anyone have a similar problem? Or ideas?

I'm sure this isn't a very 'honorable' response but I would spy on her. Not over the top spying but is there any way you can check up on what she is telling you is true? Just check the once if she isn't lying always trust her from then on. Thats only a personal opinion mind you! follow your heart.

Thank you Hosswhispra! A lot of the interpretations are very relevant to me. Especially the storms interpretation and the banality of everyday life. I feel in a bit of a rut at the moment!

I have had two dreams recently quite similar in theme. In the first I was with my b/f in a huge outdoor barn. All of its walls where made of glass. We were in the barn to escape from the storm that was approaching us at a speedy rate. The clouds were ominous and black and the lightening struck all around us in quick succession in a threatening way as if it was trying to hit us. My b/f in the dream could fly and was carrying me around the barn to avoid being struck. He kept brushing my feet against the metal beams though and I remember being worried in case I got struck via the beams. The second dream I had last night. I was out in the middle of fields with my mum. We were painting and suddenly black clouds formed in the distance and I had the same feeling of being hunted by the storm. Bright electric blue forks of lightening were visible on the horizon and we started to run to the safety of the town. It had already been struck though and much of it was on fire. My mum was leading the way through the streets to a safer place which we couldn't find and then I woke up. Any insight into my dreams would be much appreciated!

Firstly keep it light hearted, valentines day is a bit of fun so you want to make something fun with a personal touch, perhaps reminders of the good times you have both had, and why you both enjoy each others company so much. I made a card for my b/f for valentines by writing a list of top ten memories and finding pictures online, printing and cutting them out and making a collage by sticking them in a card. Example we met in a supermarket so put a pic of a trolley in it! This is cute and personal but also light hearted. Keep the poems for next valentines when you're going out

I think you're forgetting there's alot of shy people out there. Alot of girls probably don't even realise you're shy and think you don't like them. The best thing you can do is join a club or something where you share the same interests as everyone else and it makes a good talking point. My boyfriend and I are both very shy and we connected through playing the guitar and music, conversation flowed well after that.

You are not alone! Alot of guys act like this and it is never anything to do with the person they are with but their own issues. He seems to have low self esteem and is still very immature. I guarantee you as soon as you are with the right person he will be back again and you can take great pleasure in telling him where to go! I don't think any friend would treat you like he has, so good for you for concentrating on the important things in your life and moving on.

You know I don't think you mean bullying so much but dealing with other people's weirdness! In both cases you've mentioned I don't think their reactions to you are anything to do with you but their own issues?

Well I'm exactly the same. But if its your day off don't feel so guilty about it, you work full time so you should at least have a day of guilt free lounging. also it seems you are a 'deadline freak' and work best under pressure. Many people are the same for example journalists. how about setting yourself mini deadlines?
