Emotional support group Covid19

I guess the hedged their bet that there isn't enough resources to do anything about it.

Kinda disgusted.

These will be the same people either begging for medical help when they do get sick, or will cause massive panic when they spread this virus and people won't be able to get medical help due to the hospitals being overwhelmed.

The panic people feel over toilet paper and food will be nothing in comparison to the panic they will feel if thousands get this virus and the hospitals can't help everyone, not even those with other medical emergencies.

I wished people would stop now and realize this is the time to fix it now and to get the numbers down, otherwise things will get really hairy.

I have no idea how long this is going to go on for but people really need to be socially distancing. If places need to stay closed, people need money/bill forgiveness from the govt. No one should starve or be evicted.

Yea... tell that to all the a-holes on the beach in Clearwater Florida. Thousands (or so it appeared) of them frollicking like nothing has changed. What a bunch of self entitled dip****.

I'm glad the border is closed finally. Now we just have to wait for all those snow birds to come home and watch our case numbers grow.

Yup.

My son still has his best friend stuck in Japan.’😓

However, I did find out that I can get emergency support income for 14 weeks. That should roll out sometime in April.

Yes, that's good. We are retired and with our Old Age Security, Canada Pension Plan and our personal retirement fund, hopefully we will be okay. Let's just pray the banks stay fiscally healthy and the Government doesn't run out of money. O.O Yikes.

Tourists are complaining in my city. They interviewed one yahoo from Oklahoma who just got here a couple of days ago and complained about his vacation being ruined. Um, idiot, the virus was a thing already before you decided to come here. Your fault for choosing to ignore it.

Still have a cold. I tend to have colds linger due to my compromised immune system. But so far I haven't gotten worse. Off work today and probably going to skip work tomorrow.

Stay safe, everyone.

I hate it say it but unless someone's in an actively abusive relationship, it doesn't seem like it's a good idea to try to get out of a relationship or try to find a new one. A lot of businesses are closing up for now. Heck, my apartment complex let their office staff go home. They are dealing with maintenance issues and still send staff to your apartment if you call for help with something still but no walk-in office for people inquiring about a new apartment. Best to hang tight for now.

Hey all. Thanks to Batya for letting me know about this thread.

Here in MA, we're pretty shut down but I'm waiting for (and hoping for) a shelter in place order. I'd rather have a month of that then drag this out for 6 months.

YES YES YES.

I can do anything for a short time, even drastic measures.

Several more cases in my city. A bunch of people are hospitalized.

So I just went online (Amazon) and was able to buy toilet paper! Yay!

$25 for 18 rolls. At first I thought that was price gouging since I usually only buy 4 or 6 rolls at a time, but it broke down to only $1.39 per roll which is totally reasonable. I hurried up and clicked "Place Order" as quickly as I could! I'll have it mid next week. And here I am celebrating a toilet paper purchase like I just bought a fancy new car.

Still have the runny nose but I usually have a runny nose. I stayed out of work today because the team I supervise was understandably fearful when I was there blowing my nose and talking in a scratchy voice. It made me feel bad to see their eyes widen and them leaning away from me when I came within 3 feet. And they like me but liking has nothing to do with staying healthy.

Hope everyone is hanging in there.

This is why the numbers keep growing... not everyone has been ordered to shelter in place. Are you restaurants and bars still open? schools? etc.

Our mayor is advocating for only a week or two shut down, while the governor asked for 30 days. Mayor says the economic impact is too great and we rely on tourism for our economy. Well, ding dong, no one is going to travel here anyway due to the virus (and those who would choose to would be making an extremely BAD decision), so we should have all the tourist businesses open for people who won't come? Drives me crazy.

No, I didn't vote for that woman. She got the job because her husband used to be the mayor. Since when does being married to a mayor make YOU qualified to be one??? I was married to a logistics specialist, does that make me an expert in logistics???

What brand is it, Bolt? I went on there and can't see it. I can see paper towel, but not toilet paper.

Charmin Ultra Strong. I may have gotten one of the last available. I clicked on other brands that showed as available and 30 seconds later they were no longer available. That's how quickly they are selling out.

Trump is saying he "will probably help" all of these industries throughout the virus crisis... So, in conclusion. The government only believes in socialism when it suits them. No medical socialism for all those millions of people that don't have medical coverage but he's willing to cover business. SMH

His priority has been pumping up the stock market. His buddies are all complaining to him about their profit margins. Well, dead people can't buy their products but they don't think about that. Plus, since mainly old people are dying and they will die soon anyway, it's just not that important to them. If the virus affected those in their 20s, 30s and 40s we'd hear a different story.

I found the Charmin, but my delivery time says 1-2 months..hahaha. I guess that's no good. I can't hold it for that long.

Wow, I feel lucky that my delivery estimate is next week. However, that could change. I have enough to last until the end of this month so even if it doesn't get here until the 30th I'll be fine.

I'm low on Kleenex though. With my runny nose that is a problem! I've been digging around in all my pockets looking for Kleenexes.

I get emails from Big Lots and they say they are constantly restocking. If there are Big Lots or Family Dollar stores where you are maybe check there. Also Lowe's and Home Depot.

I got some bad news re: work and some assignments. Basically, we are anticipating getting absolutely slammed and trying to manage sick nursing home patient at a nursing home, can't send to hospital, hospitals too full. I told my boss I'll do what I can to help, if they need to staff.

If what they are preparing for happens, we are going to have a lot of dead people. There will be more people crashing than I will be able to help and people are going to die. I hope it doesn't come to that.

It's already come to that, it's just going to get worse because stupid people don't keep themselves home. Have you seen the videos of all the arseholes on the beach in Florida... a state that has not closed down it's restaurants and bars. People are selfish... they are going to go where they can mingle and that is why the Gov. should shut down all entertainment venues.

Yep, and as I mentioned above, our governor wants to reopen and encourage tourists to come here. I guess she wants our city to lead the way with the most deaths.

Unbelievable stupidity.
