  1. I heard (not so sure how true it is) that the Chinese eating bats is what started this all in the first place. Apparently the doctors there discovered undigested bat meat in the stomachs of one of their dead that had the virus in it. Gross!
  2. Because I'm an old bag *grinz* I get to go into the grocery store one hour before it opens to the general public and they only let a few go in and then we wait until they come out before they let the next in line go in so it's feeling much safer now. I wear a mask and I wipe down my cart with a Lysol wipe. There is tape in place where we can keep social distancing and the cashier is constantly spraying down the conveyor belt... I have a quarantined pantry as well and I make sure to wipe down any cans before opening... I've always done that though.
  3. Okay, that made me lol. I think there is one of them stuck on my daughter's ceiling as well. Just hanging there minding it's one biz.
  4. :( Tell her to turn her picture camera on so that she sees her own face and she can pose until she likes what she sees and then she will know how she looks. Besides, she will show up in the little box in the corner and she can move her hand held device at her best angle. Tell her to doll herself up if it will help and that you'd love to see her no matter how she looks... if you haven't already. I hated it at first too but I've totally adjusted.
  5. Reading that teared me up a little. I know how you felt after cancelling, Reinvent. We have a facetime "date" with our daughter, SIL and the grandkids tonite to look forward to. We had a bit of a laugh the other day. My daughter is juggling working from home and watching the kids and the little one (he's 4) interrupted her when she was on the phone with a client (like for not the first time) so she's getting a tad frustrated. *snipped* as it may cancel my anonymity.
  6. I haven't had my daughter, son-in-law and two grandchildren in my house nor I in theirs for three weeks now. The son in law is still going into work everyday and my daughter is bringing the kids in to their other grandmother two days a week so we won't take a chance since the hubby and i both have underlying conditions. Have him cook dinner at his place while you cook yours at yours all the while skyping or facetiming and then sit down together and all eat virtually. You have an autoimmune disorder. Be together virtually and yes, tell your supervisor that because of your underlying condition, you should only be working from home from now on.
  7. On a more positive note: I went shopping during the 'senior's hour' (7am to 8am) and it was so much less creepy than before they put that time reserved for seniors. I managed to get a package of toilet paper and a spray bottle of clorox cleaner... I had been unable to get those items up until now for the last month. There was plenty of social distancing of six feet or more. The cashier was a doll, sprayed the conveyor belt before I put my items up and after I finished packing them up. All in all, a much more pleasant experience. Adding: Just a quick thank you, Seraphim for starting this thread and allowing us to get some thoughts and experiences off our shoulders.
  8. Yes, good idea to confirm. There is a lot of conflicting information being put out there, not to mention the conspiracy theories are running amok.
  9. Wow, that's crazy... I wouldn't open either I were you.
  10. I hope if you're not getting outside on a regular basis that y'all are taking vitamin D supplements. You don't want to develop a deficiency which can affect mood amongst other negatives.
  11. I find shopping creepy now too, Batya.
  12. Oh, geeze... now you got me tearing up? It's a bugger, I know.
  13. Doing okay. Missing the grandkids though :( One can only get so much lovin from facetime.
  14. Well, they haven't announced it here yet but if they are arranging for online courses and courses through TVO television then I think its safe to assume that school will be closed for the rest of the year. We shall see.
  15. On a brighter note: My son-in-law, bless him, has managed to get me some toilet paper. The hubs and I were on the verge of going to the recycle bin for some used cardboard... #Ouch!
  16. Good for you, well done. Feel better soon.
  17. On a brighter note: Gun violence (that is mostly amongst gang member in the Greater Toronto Area) is waaaaaaay down. No more culling of THAT herd at the moment.
  18. Oh my! I hope you are all tested negative.
  19. ewwww... bring lysol wipes with you and wipe your keyboard, phone, desk etc down and take some to the loo with you (heh, that rhymes :))
  20. WT? is wrong with her? Stay safe, bolt.
  21. It's already come to that, it's just going to get worse because stupid people don't keep themselves home. Have you seen the videos of all the arseholes on the beach in Florida... a state that has not closed down it's restaurants and bars. People are selfish... they are going to go where they can mingle and that is why the Gov. should shut down all entertainment venues.
  22. Trump is saying he "will probably help" all of these industries throughout the virus crisis... So, in conclusion. The government only believes in socialism when it suits them. No medical socialism for all those millions of people that don't have medical coverage but he's willing to cover business. SMH
