  1. The Face of Love Great performance by Annette Bening. The plot however wasn't convincing. I felt for her and was drained watching this. The Rhythm Section Scottish countryside reminds me of my time in Wales and the UK. An entertaining movie and was jostled out of the emotional drama of Annette's performance nicely.
  2. Should've Been a Cowboy Toby Keith This song makes me smile and takes me back. Old jeep, doors and top off, flying down dirt roads and the smell of campfire for hours. I never had my breath stick in my throat the same way or laugh so hard. We sure did have fun.
  3. I'm pretty distant from family at the moment due to health reasons (pre-existing health issues for them). I live alone and am quite happy overall, feeling quite motivated and elated (free?). No one I know has been tested positive for Covid so I'm thankful for that. Sorry to hear about your family, Bluecastle. I also hope they recover fully.
  4. You Were Never Really Here It was a good movie but difficult to watch in some parts. I don't recommend it if anyone has triggers for child abuse or child sex trafficking. Joaquin Phoenix sure grew up in the last few years. What a hunk. Midsommar I was thinking of a lighthearted movie after the one above and had no idea what this was. Interesting.
  5. Stephen King's A Good Marriage Ok. Also watching a series called Justified about a cop transferred from Florida to Kentucky. It's goofy but the main actor reminds me of someone I used to know.
  6. Sparkling. Blue skies and sunlight. A different day from the last couple of blustery days and nights but I love the rain too. In previous years I disliked the cold and rain and now I enjoy it. I love it all.
  7. The Night Eats The World Entertaining and maybe a bit candid or comical regarding human psychology in isolation. Nothing to write home about but the Parisian cityscape was a nice difference from other zombie movies.
  8. Lol dias My brother is a scorpio. Great guy but I'm biased.
  9. Hi Kim, glad you're well. Haven't forgotten you either! Things are busy here in my world so had to take a few days off too.
  10. Yes, it's incredible what you find if you put your mind to it. I had some relatives recently (in the last 10 years) take up the hobby of piecing together our family tree. They were all immigrants in southeast Asia from Europe and other parts of Asia. It's mostly a mixture of indigenous islanders, Chinese immigrants, English and European transplants who stayed after the war. I reconnected with second cousins living in England, Scotland and the US also. It's a good tool but I hear it can be addictive. The genetics in our family is very wide/varied and none of us look like each other so it does give me more of an appreciation for history, common practices and traditions and a better idea of our roots.
  11. I don't think a longer commute is a good idea either. Good for you for moving closer soon! Just a few more weeks to go. It's great that you've got family there too.
  12. Wow.. that is a very long commute. I used to do 1.5-2 hours round trip from my previous residence. I have done longer... so I feel you on this. If it's a good fit, you can think of moving later on?
  13. Good plan. Times are tough right now for a lot of businesses.
  14. You may not be 'just a temp' for very long, Bolt. Do you know if they're open to hiring ft? I hear you on the multi-tasking.
  15. I re-watched Tracks (Australian film). First time I saw it was when it was released some years back. Still good. I also watched Blow the Man Down, a poignant and beautifully crafted film set in Maine. I'm quite drawn to seascapes and small towns.
  16. Not having a good day today. I don't know what I was doing(maybe reaching for something else) and I accidentally smashed a perfume bottle on the ground. I only have two arms to coordinate and couldn't seem to do that. I then went online to try and see where I can order a replacement bottle and it's been discontinued. At least the bathroom smells nice... for awhile... positive thoughts... Planning some slow cooker meals this weekend so looking at new things to try. I haven't done much in a slow cooker except the traditional browned beef stew.
  17. Wishing you well, Pippy... and lots of healing to you.
  18. Seems like a lot to handle and so stressful. Thoughts are with you navigating this situation.
