  1. I hope it goes smoothly! If anything keep feeding them ... cakes and coffee. Give them lots of good food. They won't have time to talk.
  2. I bought a new alarm clock and it makes the most unearthly sound. I woke frantic and thought fire engines and end of days was coming yesterday. I'm a bit hesitant to set it tonight but nevermind. I suppose it'll take some getting used to. Thankfully, today is more peaceful.
  3. Glad you're feeling better. I went out for a walk with a friend today. Sort of broke my self(imposed)-isolation but I think I needed it and really enjoyed chatting away with safe distancing.
  4. Good to hear your first day went all right, Bolt. They sound a lot better than your last employer with the safety precautions and mindfulness.. The adjustments and new routine sound like a lot to take in.
  5. The pants I bought on the fly fit. I think I bought them last winter and didn't have time to try them on. ...feeling accomplished and done nothing. lol Great way to start my "Monday" - took some time off.
  6. Butterfly Wrists, glad you have your little one with you. I hope she gets better quickly. You must be sleepless.. hope you're getting some rest too. I found these Levi's brand masks with pockets for liners that are three for $15. Great actually, affordable and quite comfortable. I got it in the usual fashion and quick shipping. Thought I'd share in case anyone is looking. https://www.amazon.ca/Levis-Re-Usable-Bandana-Reversible-Caviar/dp/B08B9BQNSY/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=levis+mask&qid=1600811269&sr=8-1
  7. Thanks, Butterfly Wrists. I hope your baby is okay and comfortable. I agree... very shattering and you must be worried sick. Do you have her home with you? I hope the family continues to feel well.
  8. The cases have shot up here. I'm going back to self-isolating for the most part and feeling a lot happier. Declined some invitations for dinner and lunch (birthdays and events) as the numbers of outbreaks in establishments have also gone up. I really love this Halloween/fall time of year. I think of it as a time of renewal and there's a sort of magic about it and I can't help but feel young of heart seeing all the Halloween decorations and things about. My birthday also happens in fall and I'm tickled. It's a wonderful time. I hope everyone stays safe.
  9. Good luck with the move! That's very thoughtful too - about checking out the drive before starting your first day.
  10. I'm thinking about the fires. I wish we could take back everything that has already happened.
  11. It only took four weeks and a lot of patience but I finally got my refund. Very pleased.
  12. Good for you for being honest. Were they worried about employees being late to work or quitting mid-way in training or due to commute times? It's okay and standard for most employers to want employees who work relatively close by. I don't think it takes you out of the running especially if you show you're interested in the work and are open to relocating or you're always on time or early.
  13. Rooting for you and hearing back on an interview for this company. I agree with you. I too haven't been walking outside as much but I'm working out at home and indoors. Packing (or unpacking) is good exercise too!
  14. I get that.. the frustration. I always hated school actually, had a lot of paranoia about it (part of my childhood). It blocked me from learning things in general so I'd say even though I had everything on paper, all the degrees and licences, I actually hated it and found learning new things pretty hard. I'd start something and then freeze. I honestly don't know how I made it through or did what I did. I definitely wasn't a conscious learner, more able to memorize and apply without a problem. I didn't enjoy any of it. If I think about the things I can do enjoyably start to finish it would be things that didn't involve any intense pressure or childhood trauma or breaks in perception or low self-worth back then. Hope you can get back to doing things enjoyably too.. soon! Start to finish.. one day at a time.
  15. Do you remember a time when this wasn't a problem and you didn't have this feeling of being stopped or blocked from doing those things? I'm curious maybe what's on the other side of that. If something has happened and your mind is going into survival mode or freezing due to something you've experienced in the past after being able to dream. My ex was a dreamer. I'm a doer. He dreamed more than he did and I did more than I dreamed. I couldn't understand why he seemed blocked in attaining them. Maybe it's trauma in the dreaming and putting things into action, anxious that it may not happen? Anyway I'm just thinking outloud, probably totally irrelevant.
  16. Maybe you're outgrowing your hobbies? Not necessarily anger but disinterest for me. I used to kayak and paint for example quite a lot and have all the stuff stored away but I have totally zero interest in both hobbies, as if I'm moving through into a new chapter or growth period. I'm kind of eager to learn other things that feed me in different ways.
  17. I too thought the same thing. Hope everyone is ok.
  18. Annoying meter lady sounds like chip bag lady behind my bench. I went to get some fish n chips by the harbour yesterday, got my brown bag to go and made myself comfortable overlooking the water when a group of three young adults congregated behind my bench. One young lady proceeded to wave her Lays family sized chip bag around and I could feel the air behind me. I turned around and there she was munching and stuffing her face with total disregard for anyone around her, talking with her mouth open. I glared at her a few times and she still didn't get the message until one of her friends asked her to move away from the bench. This isn't even about covid though. Can you be any more inconsiderate waving your chips and bits flying out of your mouth while someone else is already sitting there. Glad the shopping went well though!
  19. Stubbed my toe and cut it? It was fine and then it got infected because I left it uncovered. Now I have a cartoony looking big white bandage on my big toe and am told to keep it clean. Thank you, sandals. Thank you, lack of coordination.
  20. Oh wow. Okay. I didn't realize... that's not good. Something better will come by. You're lucky you have your cat! I am so allergic to cats but they're my favourite animal.
