I'd like people of ALL ages to weigh in!

 

Which do you prefer, hair or bare (down there)? And do you think this preference depends a lot on what age you are? (Older seem to prefer the natural way, younger like bare)

 

I am just wondering. My boyfriend is much older than me and he prefers it natural and doesn't want me to shave or wax. But when I talk to my friends, they say boyfriends (their age) seem to balk at any sign of hair and so they need to shave a lot.

 

It's interesting to think about!

I think it's a person-by-person thing really. I've been with guys who enjoyed the little runway, and guys who like it completely bare. I don't think there's anything wrong with either way - it's just a preference.

My man loves clean cut, but I don't shave everyday because when I do shave (every other day) it stays smooth that way. The days that I have a little hair/stubble he doesn't mind at all

i do think its a generational thing that stems from porn...20 years ago...even 10 years ago pornography and even magazines like Playboy featured women who weren't bare and therefore that was the norm and "sexy"...nowadays it's the opposite. ive never heard any of my guy friends say they prefer hair and i know my bf doesn't, he shaves himself.

 

i like it bare, i feel cleaner and it looks prettier to me

Yeah that's the thing, I've never known a guy (my age) who liked hair. The only one who did was like "only a thin line!" or something...haha.

 

I don't like how I feel bare but if a guy wanted me to, I'd suck it up and get waxed. I offered for my boyfriend but he was like "NO WAY".

Trimmed is fine with me. Bare would be fine too.

 

I suppose this sounds a bit wishy-washy, and isn't helping, so I'll elaborate.

 

As a general rule: on a brunette, I prefer trimmed . . . on a blonde (a real one) I prefer bare. It's not a dealbreaker either way, as I consider myself lucky to be there anyway.

 

I don't think it's a preference due to age, at least directly. I think the only way age plays a part is because women in my age range tend not to go bare.

Presumably older men are watching the same porn as younger men because that's what's available, so I wonder if even a lot of older guys are up with the newer, hairless trend when it comes to preferences for their female partners (or even themselves).

 

On that note, hair on guys, okay? not okay? Manscaped? Just curious as it seems the current "in" trend seems to be hairless guys.

 

I don't mind when a guy shaves, but I think hairiness hits me in some animal part of the brain because I do find it sexier. It's nice to be cleaned up for oral sex, but no need to take it all off. You are going to find a wide variety of answers on that one so you should go with your preference.

I also think it's a generational thing. All of the guys I've been with in my age range have preferred bare. My ex hated hair on me and on himself, but my boyfriend (older) prefers just a bit trimmed. He was actually surprised (not in a good way) the first time he saw that I waxed. I tried leaving a little the last time I did it, but the patch just looked weird and out of place, so I got rid of it.

 

I guess I just have a hard time feeling sexy when I'm hairy. I know it's natural and all that, but it's uncomfortable for me. I don't like hairless guys though.

I prefer to not shave, but my husband likes it bare, so I cycle. It's just too much of a hassle for me to want to permanently keep up with it.

 

I am definitely NOT a fan of a guy going bare- it weirds me out. I dated one guy who did it and he never did it again- I couldn't get over how not like a man he looked. My husband wants to and I told him I'd prefer him not.

 

No clue as to whether it's a generational thing or not. I think the comment about older men watching newer porn is valid, as is the "don't knock the decor" comment.

From my experience (which isn't THAT extensive -- LOL!) and from what I've heard, read, etc. it tends to be an age-related thing moreso than anything else.

 

I dated a guy a few years ago (with whom I never had sex -- we never got to that point) who said more than once that "hairy women are disgusting." He was significantly younger than me, in his 20's, and he had VERY definite ideas about what women were supposed to look like "down there." (He was extremely critical of women's appearances, too, which is a big reason I never slept with him). My last ex, who is in his 50's, has an entirely different take on it -- he likes the "natural look" very much and thinks women should not shave/wax down there at all. Being almost 40 myself, I grew up in a time when women did not shave/wax or do anything "landscaping wise" down there, except maybe trim it when they were planning to wear a bathing suit, and I personally do NOT like the hairless look/feel on me (tried it once and hated it).

 

On men, manscaping is a no-no, in my opinion. I don't want them to shave their armpits or legs, either -- that freaks me out. Swimmers or cyclists, OK, because it apparently makes them more "aerodynamic'" or whatever, but othewise, leave it alone, guys!

My ex fiance liked it trimmed close, but not bare. I assume my last ex did too (he said). I personally like to shave it once in a while, but not always because it gets too itchy and rashy. I like bare on guys. Bushy is gross and smelly. My ex fiance trimmed and I thought it was weird at first but I now would prefer bare because it's cleaner and more appealing for me to put my mouth down there.

I prefer to keep mine shaved. It's so much cleaner and easier to deal with.

 

On the other hand it really gets to me the amount of men who want women to shave or complain about hairy vaginas, when they all have forests in their underpants. Seriously it is not pleasant going down on a penis when you've got a huge mat of pubes in your face!! Not to mention I hate picking them out of my teeth.

 

Sometimes it's like men don't realise that women like them to keep up appearances down there too.

Well male pube grooming is something which is not often talked about.

But should be done for consideration of their SO when oral comes to mind.

 

Besides for the man who is insecure about penis size.....shaving to keep thte pubews short will make your penis look bigger.
