Condoms turn me off. Help.

This is killing me. Whats wrong with me?

 

The girl Ive been seeing is amazing. She turns me on incredibly but when I put a condom on I lose my errection and its game over. She doesnt want to have sex without a condom for obvious reasons so what on earth do I do to solve this. This happened before when I was 18 (Im twenty now) and I have not tried to have sex since. I don't want to mess this up and lose her as I really like her. I really dont know what to do. I think I have some stupid mental problems. Would viagra solve this. It probably would but I really dont want to do this as I have read that you can not ejaculate when on viagra and in the first place its not like i cant get it up!! What on earth is going on.

Have you tried putting condoms on while she's not there. Masturbate and try putting them on. Get used to how it feels, if the size is off get new ones.

Go online and research this Japanese-made condom that supposedly works as effectively as other condoms but at a minimal cost to penile sensitivity. My friend who had a similar problem as you was able to fix it by switching to these condoms. Good luck!!!

To be honest with you, I've had a similar experience. I figure it's because the concept of the condom makes me think about what's about to happen, and it makes me nervous. I'm barely 18, and I was about to perform an act that I always connected to adulthood. I think I was over analyzing the situation, and because of this my mind didn't stay on her or how turned on I was, but what was actually about to take place. I suppose it's a form of performance anxiety in a way.

 

Honestly, I'm not too sure how it's going to be the next time I attempt the act, but I think I'm going to have to just stop thinking and being nervous/anxious, and just go with the flow.

 

Easier said than done, I know, but I hope I've given you some insight.

I agree about condoms. They really stink. Especially if it's with someone you are with. Whenever I use them, similar things happen. I just lose interest actually. When I had flings and/or one night stands, I had no problem with it because it was so new and hot. But with someone you have sex with often, putting one on, at least for me, kills my mood. No matter if the girl put it on or what not. I also don't like the rubbery smell.

Ever tried lambskin condoms? I think they're supposed to maintain moisture better. I tried them once, but the smell reminded me of the cadavers in my anatomy courses. But maybe your nose and brain wont make that same association

Lambskin doesn't protect you as much as latex or polyurethane. My human sexuality professor highly recommended NOT using them.

 

I ALSO learned that Viagra in young men can actually make it so you'll never be able to naturally achieve an erection again. I don't know how common it is for that to happen, but you still shouldn't take Viagra unless it's been prescribed to you by a doctor for a legitimate erectile dysfunction - it is NOT supposed to be a recreational drug.

 

If you end up taking it anyway, just make sure that you really do seek medical attention if you have an erection lasting more than four hours - your blood vessels can burst (that's what causes the inability to achieve erection that I mentioned earlier). Very serious business.

Are you referring to Crown Skinless Skin condoms? These condoms are highly rated by users but you can look at condom websites to determine which ones will provide safety and sensitivity. As far as losing your erection while putting the condom on, you need to get used to it by masturbation but I would also suggest working putting on the condom into the foreplay.

Condoms have been updated and there are many options out there. Now if you have tried them all then you can make that statement but its really all about finding a condom that you like. I would suggest Crown Skinless Skin or Rough Ryder ultra thin but those are the ones that I have found that I like and they dont have that rubber smell.

condoms, its multitasking. dont stop to put on the condom, put it on as you are still messing about. stay inthe mood- you dont want to do a how to, its just a quick process. also- tightness, dont get tight condoms, and lube inside the condom always helps. actually lube all over- try that spray kind

You might want to try non-latex ones, like Durex Avanti. They're thinner than latex. (I am allergic to latex, so when I first started dating my boyfriend, we used these)

 

Also, I second everyone who suggested having your girl put it on. I *always* put it on him, and since he didn't need to fumble, it kept his minds on other things.
