quietgrl
Oh my gosh!!! This story shock the Heck out of me.This story is very seriuos and sad.How important is sex to you? Woman died of allergy on sperm Actually, they both, the woman and her husband knew about the allergy on some substances contained in the husband’s sperm, though they often neglected using condom. According to the doctors, they did their best to rescue the patient’s life, though without success. Allergy on sperm is very seldom, though it causes serious troubles. The troubles of the couple started a year ago, just after they married. The woman suffered from asthma and felt badly after sex, though sexual appealing turned out to be more powerful than her illness. link removed Link to comment
TiredMan
Is this just a case of being over-horny or just that they cared so much for each other that they shared the risk. They are some couple (gay and straight) where only one of the people is HIV positive while the other isn't. Yet they still have sex knowing that the condom "could" break at any time. Link to comment
quietgrl
This chick died because of sperm .I can see maybe dying from a STD but sperm. Link to comment
HellFrost666
Really... how much time and effort does it take to put on a condom anyway? If I knew my other half would die if I came on her I would be scared to death of even touching her without protection. Link to comment
rocio
Sex is important. If I were allergic to sperm I'd probably take my chances and do it anyway. What kind of a life is it if you never experience d**k? Link to comment
TiredMan
I still compare the two. I know it's not an STD but some people are just willing to risk their lives because of how much they care for the other person. Link to comment
AntiLove_SuperStar
hazey_amber, I adore your attitude! If I was allergic, I might do it once a year, with a Durex Extra Safe. It must be a freak incident, surely.. Link to comment
NJRon
I would only hope it's a recessive trait... otherwise humanity is doomed... Link to comment

Shadows Light
I have heard of alergies to sperm but never death from it. And the allergy would be only to "HIS" particular chemistry and not all sperm. eeeeek!! I've also heard of womens body rejecting particular sperm, meaning.... they can't get pregnant from "that" particular guy....but anyone else can impregnate them. Part of natures "natural selection" process. I think it would be heart-breaking. Talk about a shot to the ego... eeeek!!! Link to comment

annie24
that link is suspect to me. if i see it written up in a medical journal, I'd be more likely to believe it. Link to comment
quietgrl
Annie, I thought the same thing when i first read the article but i did some research. This sperm allergy is no joke Link to comment
CharLit
Well, like any allergy sperm allergy can trigger anaphylactic shock and result in death. However, I wonder about this particular case: Pravda tends to run stories on aliens, psychics, ghosts etc. rather frequently Link to comment

TiredMan
What kind of a life is it if you never experience d**k? I've never experienced it, happy to say and I wouldn't say life is bad LOL. Link to comment
RayKay
Well sex is important, but, I would at the same time consider my partner's life, my life and our life together even more so and would use a condom knowing that it would at least help to REDUCE the risks of death from it! I would not abstain from it, but I sure would not neglect to take appropriate measures. Link to comment
quietgrl
I've never experienced it, happy to say and I wouldn't say life is bad LOL. Amen Tiredman .I never experience a man's penis either and my life not that bad. Link to comment
timlondon
that link is suspect to me. if i see it written up in a medical journal, I'd be more likely to believe it. A quick search on pubmed (keywords: anaphylaxis semen) gives 25 results. How's this for a recommendation though: JAMA. 1984 May 25;251(20) Successful long-term immunotherapy for human seminal plasma anaphylaxis. "Anaphylactic sensitivity to her husband's seminal fluid occurred in a 46-year-old woman ... the patient was immunized to fraction 3 in a classic desensitization protocol... Regular and frequent sexual activity is required to maintain her tolerant state." hahaha brilliant Link to comment

rocio
Well probably for different reasons than me. I've experienced both, and feel that they have both enriched my life. Sure you don't want to give it a try? Link to comment

annie24
oh yeah, I believe that it exists. I was going to do a pubmed search myself! quietgrl - are you using this as another reason to abstain from sex? I am a bit worried... Link to comment
quietgrl
annie, I'm just waiting for the "right" man to walk in my life, give me sex with a commitment and then i'll lose my virginity. The reason why i brought up sperm allergy.I'm doing research and i'm thinking about having one of my soap opera character develop the allergy. Link to comment
