Don't get me wrong, I feel sorry for the guy in your story- but I also feel worse for the "worker" who had to do something so personal with him. If everyone else is so revloted by him, chances are that she will be too. I would imagine there would be some post-traumatic stress involved if you had sex with someone that really disgusted you (even if you were paid well and consented) True that. I know a girl who is a prostitute. I went to high school with this girl and I think she had underlying issues with male atteantion and her father figure. I do also know that she came from a good background and was very well educated. She chose to "hook" because she took pride in being in control and collecting money from guys. I had an in depth talk with her one night after she had been robbed and raped. I asked if she would stop, she said no. She felt that she makes to much money doing so. She enjoyed it, and she felt it was getting her a shoe in the sex industry. I have not talked to her in over two years and sometimes I worry. The last I heard she was doing pornography. The sad/cynical part about it is that she IS happy. She hated working and hated studying. Its a very complicated issue. So I guess for simplicity's sake and after a bit of critical thought I would have to say no I do not agree with prostitution. Link to comment

Period, and no one is gonna change my mind. HOWEVER... I think it's WORSE when a married man does it, BUTT UGLY or not, because he then runs the risk of giving his wife HIV. If his wife does not have sex with him, he should divorce her, kids or no kids. Kids can pick up on an unhealthy marriage. Better to be alone than wish you were. Link to comment

But you asked people's opinions: My question is if you are unattached, and there for not hurting anyone by doing it, do you think seeing a prostitute is _always_ bad? It's possible to form an opinion about the sex trade industry without having it be a part of your life in some way. I'll also go out on a limb and say that the majority of prostitutes are not therapists- so you may not be getting the "full" picture from your friends either. Your experience is also limited on this topic if you only have the anecdotal, isolated stories of your friends to go by. I just wanted to point out that no one has more of a "right" to an opinion on this thread than anyone else. Link to comment

Tell me, are you a prostitute? Honest question, you know so much about it, you defend it.. could you see yourself selling your butt for money and having a stable and loving relationship with someone?
