  1. Thats fair enough but Im finding it hard to move on seeing as we are really close friends
  2. OK everyone, sorry for being so vague I'll try and fill you in. Around 4-5 months ago I got involved with someone and we had a very short relationship of 2 weeks. We got on really, really well and we still do. Why she finished it, still to this day I don't know ( she said I wasn't for her and thats why she stepped back, but people close to her have just said its because she doesn't really want to be in a relationship with anyone ). Anyway looking back on it I should have also stepped back as we became firm friends soon after. And to this day we still are, but I've always felt there is 'something' there. She gives me all the signs when we are together ( playing with her hair, exposing her neck etc. ), and she has explained to me that she has a flirtatious nature ( I've come to realise this over the last few months!! ) and this kind of stuff is just 'her'. Why would a girl act like this if she didn't want to take things further?
  3. What would you do when you know you are absolutely right about someone's feelings towards you but they say otherwise?
  4. What if a girl says it to a guy? After 2 weeks of seeing each other and getting on more than fine, she dropped that on me. 'I'm not ready for a relationship right now'. What does that mean?
  5. 'Ive caught myself thinking what it would be like to be in a relationship with you and it scared me when i realised what i was doing.' What does this mean? Thanks for the advice so far......
  6. OK me and this girl have been getting on really well for the past few months. When I say really well I mean we've gone as far as we can with each other without getting to first base. Anyway problem is that she has a bf and he's just got back from a long time away. Now before I go on I must stress that I would NEVER allow myself to have done anything with this girl, and likewise she would never be unfaithful. I thought that something should be said to her so I wrote her an email trying to find out what is going on as I was confused. She wrote one back saying she was also confused about our relationship BUT she acts like that around people she is very close to. 'Ive caught myself thinking what it would be like to be in a relationship with you and it scared me when i realised what i was doing.' What does this mean? And I am doing the right thing by not pushing myself on to her? She says she loves her bf so I'm right to back away, surely?
  7. thanks for the advice, I'll keep you updated......
  8. Good point, but we've only known each other for a few months so I wouldn't say we are really good friends yet. I've just found out that she's gonna stay over again this weekend!!!!
  9. OK, I've been on here before about a relationship I have with this gorgeous girl ( we're just friends ). Anyway I found out a while ago she has a BF on the other side of the world so I am NOT going to persue the relationship any further. Anyway, she has spent the night round here before and she seems pretty keen on me. We both went out the other night and came back to my flat and were sitting in my room and falling asleep. As we were falling asleep she kept on taking my hand and cuddling up to me. Am I reading too much into this? I've been thinking of sitting her down and having words with her as I don't want to be responsible for the breakup of a relationship, however long distance it is.
  10. Well she came over at the weekend and made me dinner, which was great. We really get on with each other. She did end up sleeping in the other room ( I wasn't expecting any action anyway! ), and before she went to bed she gave me a great big hug!! It seems to me that the signs are there, as she does keep on touching my arm and stuff. We'll see what happens....
  11. I'm sorry but I am really bad at reading people. Lately a girl seems to have taken an interest in me, but is she just being friendly or interested in another way? She has met me for lunch a couple of times, we've chatted on the phone quite a bit, and we are always on MSN. Thing is, she is coming round this weekend to cook me dinner and she will also be staying the night. She hasn't suggested to me that the relationship is going to go any further though. If she doesn't say anything, how do I know if she wants to take things further? I'm not going to do/say anything that would jeopordise our friendship. I have noticed on occasions that she has reached out and touched my arm a few times, when she's left for example. Is this a sign of flirting? or am I wrong?
  12. My thoughts? leave her well alone until they sort out their differences. Its won't be fair on the other guy if you try and muscle in on the relationship HOWEVER bad it may be. Believe me, I know.....
  13. The only way to know if this type of thing works is to see what happens over time ( a cliche', I know ). I've been going through the same type of thing myself for the past couple of months and I've actually found it easier than I though I would, although I can't say the same thing for my exgf. I think a break from each other will do you both good, though - and it seems to me that he may have broken the relationship off prematurely, maybe? If he did, then BE PATIENT!!! He may come back to you, but in the meantime don't put your life on hold for him. Have some you time for a change, and don't give in to tempatation and contact him, let him do that first......
  14. Let me tell you something - you're lucky. I can't predict wether or not she will get back with you at the end of all of this, but she has made a very big step in getting help. All you can do I'm afraid is just let her do it on her own, and if she asks you for help then do as she asks. I'm worried about my ex gf at the moment because I think she doesn't know she has a problem.....
  15. Thanks for that - I'm pretty sure that is the reason for the breakup, but I think you're right in saying that I shouldn't mention anything. We've actually already arranged to go out a week after as well ( this was planned ages ago ), so we'll see what happens. She has mentioned that she just wants to be on her own for now, but I really want to help if I can.
