I got electrocuted yesterday. It was absolutely fantastic. Stupid idiot I am, I had washed my hands but in a rush not dried them, and I went to unplug some dodgy adaptor thing the workmen had been using and, a shot of shiver ran through me, no joke.

My finger tips where the shock had entered felt like they had been burned, but it was a freezing cold sensation of burning, not a hot one. They were tingling, I felt buzzed inside. My heart even felt a little jolted. Not much pain though, only at my fingertips. Amazing! I felt strange and off skelter ten minutes after. I shouted to D, “I’ve just got an electric shock!” And he just shouted back from the other room blandly, un-stirred, “You loon.”

Exercising definitely helps a lot! May I suggest weight lifting? A typical workout routine that you could find online would be ok, I can help you with that. Weight lifting has different results in your mood than cardio. I think you would like the feeling. Plus it's more pleasant and easier than cardio lol

I would love any suggestions!

Thing is Dias (I know I am in no danger of this trust me now 🤣🥲) but, I always imagine with weights you can get bulky and taunt? And, I don’t actually aspire for that look for myself? I do have quite obviously biceps actually left over from the years of dancing, you became accustomed to holding your own weight and what not, and I am actually very self conscious of them. Don’t like them! I wouldn’t want them getting too more obvious!!

Women are being told their career is extremely important and that they deserve the best millionaire six pack master chef Casanova stud who is sweet but dominant all at the same time and they can find him once they get into the dating market at 36 and then have their baby at 40.

Men spend their dating lives online and take rejection far too personally, not facing it enough and often, and watch too much porn. They are afraid to tell women no or take the lead in relationships anymore.

These are my thoughts. Scatter them like ashes - HA!

You can't get bulky or muscly or big or anything unless you are a freak of nature and you train like a professional athlete. I am talking about exercising for improving your mood and increasing your energy and sex drive (as a bonus 😎). Based on a picture you posted in the past you are not a freak of nature so don't worry.

Second, if you don't have a high protein diet you won't gain muscle anyway regardless of how hard you train. In your case you won't change anything in your diet, you can simply workout for your well-being.

Third, do not train body parts that you don't like to have a minor pump like the biceps in this case, just skip the biceps and triceps, do everything else.

This workout does not seem bad for women, it has some decent exercises, light weights and high reps, it's more like aerobic which I guess you would like since you like dancing...?

I am sad because I used to be able to do 50 push ups ( men push ups), and 45 sit ups in a minute ( only the sit ups)

And do this

FORCE Combat allows the Army to assess soldiers’ physical readiness and resilience as a part of the Mission Ready strategy. Prior to FORCE Combat was the Battle Fitness Test (BFT), developed from 1984-1991, with four representative common tasks of an Army soldier: Evacuation of a casualty in 60 seconds or less, using a fireman’s carry over 100 metres; ammunition box lift in 300 seconds or less; maximal effort digging in 300 seconds or less (move 0.486m3 of pea gravel); and a 13-kilometre loaded march carrying full fighting order (FFO=24.5kg) in 2 hours and 24 minutes

And This:

There was also a timed 3.2 Km run in webbing and helmet holding your weapon.

I would probably die doing anything close now….lol

Thanks Dias!

This is really good - and you don't need a billion different gadgets and a treadmill and a cycle bike and all the rest!

And I am not a bionic type of gal no! But I do put on muscle slightly easier than the average I would say, but, I'm not gonna be getting a 6 pack by accident HA! I like the dancing not for the exercise at all Dias, that was just a bi-product of it! The dancing is a creative outlet for me, even exotic dancing, because I lean towards the sexual aspect of most things in life, dancing included. It was creative expression for me. I suppose that's why exercise just doesn't naturally appeal to my personality! Walking - yes! Because of the exploitive time to think and take things in aspect of it. I find myself feeling like a hamster at the wheel on a treadmill. I can't do it. But this looks like something I could aim for right! It can only be a good thing!

Do you think a morning work out is a better or an evening one? My thing about the evening is - if I start getting all amped up, I'm terrible for going to bed and, will it keep me up even longer?! Or will it make me sleepy? That would be a nice thing actually, to feel really tired on an evening. I struggle putting myself to bed. I'm worse than the kids!

I often think you should go into personal training - but make your own business out of it, something like that! My husband once suggested I start my own pole dancing school, and then he said hire other teachers and have it like a franchise (y'know how he is). Glass of wine, small groups, things like that. I realise my "pole dancing" was more along the Veronica Vega vibe of... "pay me n***a don't b*****t me!" so, that's not really a class, is it? LOL! (I'm exaggerating here - I was never one of those b***h dancers. I was probably too nice actually, that's why I was never a top earner!)

@dias The exercise video you sent me also gave me a big warm hit of nostalgia!

When my mum was in her mid 30s, she took a few courses, did a first aid course and also did a nutrition course and opened her own aerobics school! She came from a dancing background (modern, tap, ballet) and for some reason, it was so out of her personality mode of operation but, she got this ammunition about her in her 30s. I remember feeling the exuberance and confidence beaming off her! She was always so shy, so apologetic, so quiet - meek. Me and my sister got taken aback! She was obsessed. It was her new thing! She lived for her classes!

My mum always had a very trim figure, bordering on quite skinny actually, very skinny. But, in her 30s, she seemed to go to bed one night and in the morning rock out this slender, athletic frame. And she was always in cropped slouchy tops and tiny shorts! She'd skip off to her classes, those ear piece microphones dangling from her gym bag. She created all these funny wild moves! She got quite a local following! I think she was at her most confident then.

She threw her ankle out and then discovered along with that she had a heart murmur and the consultant advised her to stop heavy exercise.

Anyway, the lady instructing in the video, even though she is nothing like my mum - just reminded me of the "Hey class! Let's go!" my Mum had goin' on for awhile!

Except for bones … lol.. they make me pass out. I did an ankle exam on someone once, promptly went into the washroom and fainted … lol.

This is surprising!!! I presumed anyone who had anything to do with medicine and the human body was infallible in that way!

I always say, hats off and respect to anyone who has served time in the army. You are worth your weight in gold!

One of my husbands cousins, he has a son who tried out for the SAS but failed. He loved the army though. He dropped out and used his HGV drivers license he got in the army to go become a heavy goods lorry driver because, at the moment, with it in demand, it can be a lucrative thing to do. The fitness aspect alone boggles my mind! How anyone gets through it I don't know! Weighing their back packs and just, going off for a marathon through the rain and mud! I'm here complaining if I don't get to spend half an hour in the bath every evening!

You have to try both. Some people get amped up, some tend to get sleepy after the workout. It really depends on the individual.

Walking - yes!

I love walking too, I walk at least 1 hour every day. 2-3 hours on the weekends. But walking does not release dopamine and serotonin like weight lifting or high intensity cardio (like sprints etc). Walking is to burn calories, clear your mind and enjoy the scenery or the company.

Thanks. I never wanted to make a business out of it, it will take the fun away. I like to workout myself, not to entertain others to convince them to exercise lol

You inherited the dancing gene, it makes sense 🙂

PS. The workout routine in the video is good actually and only with a couple of dumbbells , you should give it a try.

It can be brutal . I ripped the muscles in my back on a run with rucksack that the Airborne regiment made us do. I was in a sling four months because I separated my shoulder and tore my rhomboid muscles . I still suffer with every day pain to this day. I broke my nose once with my gas mask. Broke waist deep snow for 11 hours on point as the officer’s radio man. I am 5’3.5” so as you can imagine waist deep snow was fun… lol. Frost bitten feet etc etc etc, fell off a cliff through a tree.

As bad as the physical strain was the mental strain was worse. Back when I was in they broke you to build you as a cohesive until .

Incredible Seraphim! Major respect!

I wonder what your opinion on this is! What type of people adapt best to the army? Do you think there are certain personality traits that make people thrive in that military environment? Always fascinating to me. I know it's absolutely never appealed to me, I wouldn't last five minutes! I often think my husband would have made a decent police officer or, if he had joined the army, I think he would have done well. You never know do you! Some people seem sweet and quiet and yet, have been through things like yourself!

Y’know, if I don’t pick up, clean up, tidy up and keep organised every single day, every single hour - within under 10 hours, our whole house looks like a page outta Peepo.

I’m not kidding.

I told D, if I ever die, one thing I want you to do without hesitation - get a maid, will ya? Get someone to wash and iron the kids clothes, organise them in their wardrobes, keep the fridge clean, keep the towels fresh and folded? I could depart happier knowing all that mama practical stuff was to be taken care of. I said hey, you might even get a little “you’re going through a tough time” saucy maid sex and, I also applauded that and give my blessing should I be gone.

HA!

I can spend your money just, oh so fabulously. I can really make it dance.

You give me £10 or £10,000 and those pennies are gonna shine all around in the most stylish and tasteful way.

It’s an underrated talent. I swear - where is my trophy? It’s exhausting too, because it’s endless.

D was talking to himself in his sleep last night. He never does this.

I woke up to murmuring in the dark.

”Seven point three percent…”

What?

Quiet, barely there. He must have changed his mind. In a sleepy, slow drawl, “No… four point one percent.”

He kept changing his mind and going back and forth.

He came into the bathroom, standing up having a wee. I was in the bath.

“You were talking in your sleep last night Y’know.”

”Oh? What was I saying?” I told him and he said,

”It’s this deal. That’s what I’m thinking about all day.”

He shook himself then left the room.

He’s currently working on a big deal. He’s trying to sell a large collection of something we have to a Chinese museum. He also rushed off this morning to go value and buy a big collection of about 400 paintings. He paid a friend to come with him and help load them up.

I don’t think he would admit it too me again, but I think he has balls rolling but, stressful ones. If he could flip a sign on his door, it would say: ‘Occupied’.
