Tossing an old valentine's gift

I have no idea what category this falls under but "trust and relationships" sounds close enough.

I got a valentine's gift a couple year's back from a guy I didn't like back. I accepted the gift out of courtesy, especially after he noted that he'd travelled to Hong Kong to buy it. He's a sweet guy but I just didn't feel the same way, and now he's moved on and likes someone else. The valentine's gift was a sketchbook I barely used, but I'm still reluctant to throw it away since he knew I'm an artist (hence a sketchbook) so he really put a lot of thought into the gift (left a note on the last page and wrapped it up nicely and everything).

Would it be unethical to toss it out?

No, just throw it out, it’s almost spring, that’s the time for spring cleaning!

If you have a friend who has children who like to draw just rip out the pages you used and gift it to them.

This is garbage. Recycle it however. I have no qualms tossing and cleaning things out. Declutter your life.

Give it to someone with kids who can draw in it or donate it to a second hand shop.  Dont put it in the garbage.  remove the pages you drew on, first.

I'd donate it as others have suggested. Surely someone will appreciate that sketchbook.

It was two years ago and he's got a girlfriend now.

Regift it. You must know of someone who likes to draw like yourself. Tear out the last page, wrap it up nice and make someone happy.
