Until I heard this requiem (Requiem Introitus) and the Requiem Lacrimosa, I thought Mozart only wrote lighthearted music. I was really impressed when I learned that this was him! Link to comment

Jibralta Posted January 7, 2018 Share Posted January 7, 2018 I think Rachmaninov's Prelude in C# Minor is like classical music heavy metal. My favorite performance is by Ashkenozy. I think he plays it better than Rachmaninov plays it! The 'metal' part doesn't start until almost 2/3 in. Here is Rachmaninov's version, in case you're curious.
