ProtestTheHero
I believe from everything I've experienced and seen that women tend to be more forgiving than men about matters of appearance. I would strongly disagree, but maybe it's because of my environment. I'm in a college on the beach in Florida, and if a woman is considered attractive by most people then she wants a man of equal standing. They like to have incredibly attractive BF's because it discourages other guys from hitting on them, validates their own looks, and lets them go about their business with their SO by their side w/o feeling embarrassed. In my life, I have never personally met a women (IRL, not on the net) who did not value looks above almost everything else. The guys that they value for their personality are their friends, but they're going home with one of the best looking guys around. That's why I don't think this is a gender thing. Maybe girls are demanding pube shaving of their guys, but I can give you numerous accounts of guys whose wardrobe, hair, shoes, etc. have totally changed as dictated by their current gf. That's how it goes around here. The guys aren't necessarily wimpy, they know what's going on, but they're willing to put up with it as long as they get a piece of some of the hottest girls in the Tampa area. Everyone at some point tries to play Ken and Barbie with their SO. Males and the majority preference for shaven women is one example. There are several others. Why this is a hot issue, I don't know. I as a male could make 10 other threads nitpicking a societal preference women have. It is what it is, and we can either conform or refuse to and accept the consequences of both. Link to comment
tiredofvampires
i think shaving your etc. is what the thread is about.....i knew a woman who shaved for her lesbian friend but stopped whe she went back to guys. WTH? Interesting how a couple of posts have cited lesbians as wanting to shave, too. Very fascinating to think that the "butch" sterertype involves unshaveness to the hilt. And yet there is this other standard. There was a lesbian on here a while back who talked about the "grossness" of women who don't shave. And I got on her case just as well. I just don't think our body parts are "gross", period. And I will tell that to a woman, a man, a transgender, a bisexual, a gay person, a straight, a castratto opera singer, or a cross-dresser who is celibate -- whoever. Link to comment

Sorry i think body parts can look gross. This is why i am very very very glad nude beaches are not the norm. I dont think I am gross or other people are gross but there are somethigns i dont want to see on others and hairy women is one of them (sorry i know this is OT as this thread is about shaven woo woos but I am saying in general)... I think most people look better with some clothes on and keeping themselves neat and trimmed up. No offense to Rasta's but everytime i see a person with dreads it makes my scalp itch. I also think midnights les comment was about the les woudl shave for her g/f but not her b/f. Link to comment
melrich
You might want to wait a couple days (or months?) until people aren't so burned out, LOL. Though maybe it's still "hot" now, so I dunno. Your call. Let's leave it till after Easter. Link to comment

I as a male could make 10 other threads nitpicking a societal preference women have. It is what it is, and we can either conform or refuse to and accept the consequences of both. First, I suppose I stopped being attached to the Ken and Barbie aspirations some time ago. I guess for those still in it, it's got to run its course. For you, personally, you might want to be careful of that mileau. I think if less people were less interested in being Ken and Barbie, we might not have some of the issues we do here on the threads, more serious dating threads. So why is it "so hot an issue"? I have outlined that elsewhere in the thread, what purpose this serves. I think this is symptomatic in ways (for some people) of the Barbie-Ken standard, which carries other related issues, as you've alluded to. Link to comment

tiredofvampires
Sorry i think body parts can look gross. Well, I sorta disagree there, but that's definitely an "eye of the beholder thing". They look "gross" if they are sick, injured and running with pus. But not if they are clean and healthy. BTW, this word "gross"......it must be just me, but I think the last time I used that I was in 8th grade over gum under the desk? (not just indicting you JS, but just to say, this word is used so much it's like.... Link to comment
JadedStar
I specifically used the term gross because that was the term you used in the preceeding post. LOL So nope, the last time you used it was not in 8th grade but on page 12 ToV. LOLOL Link to comment

The only post I see on page 12 was a quote of the word taken from someone else's mouth, put appropriately in quotation marks. LOL!! This board must be quite slow today, I do say! (but how would I know, since I haven't been much out of this thread!!) Halp, haaaaalp!!! ROF! Link to comment
JadedStar
But that is where i got the term gross from. I don't normally use that word. LOL Link to comment

Sunshine75
I'm not trying to read all 14 pages of this but wanted to my share my $.02. While many guys have grown up looking at Playboys & watching porn with shaved or "landing strip" pubic areas, at some point they really need to grow up. Period. If you have any intention of being in a long term relationship with a woman, especially if there is the possibility of having children, then you need to be able to accept that a woman cannot always have porn star pubes. There will be times when she's sick or too pregnant to see down there to trim & shave. So what are you going to do? Dump your pregnant wife/girlfriend because she can't trim or shave? Refuse to touch her or be intimate because, "Oh my GOD! She's got HAIR!?!?!?" There have been times when I didn't/couldn't trim or shave and guess what? No guys have thrown me out of bed, complained, or refused to touch or be intimate with me. While they may not have been the best men on the planet, I'm grateful that the men I was with were actually MEN and had no problem with me being a WOMAN. While it might be a dealbreaker to some men if a woman isn't sporting a landing strip or no hair, it's definitely a dealbreaker to me if a man is so immature he can't deal with a woman as she is naturally. Because that man isn't looking for a real relationship, he's looking for someone to live out his porn fantasies with. Link to comment
