not to be immature, but ewwwww

Recommended Posts

This is kind of hard to write, cause it's gross and I don't really like thinking about it, but I feel like I need to get it out in the open so hopefully I can forget about it and be normal again.

Basically, the other day my dad went to bed early, and I thought nothing of it. The next day while he was at work, I was watching tv in his room cause my tv doesn't get cable, and I was looking at all the pay per view stuff, looking for a movie. There was this thing that said "My rentals," the things already paid for. I looked, hoping he already rented a good movie and I wouldn't have to pay for another...

I don't know, but I'm assuming "Accidental Stripper" and "Erotic Volume 3" are not the latest Jack Black films...so naturally, I was grossed out beyond belief. I guess it could be normal, but I can't get past it. For the past 2 days, I haven't been able to look him in the eye, and I feel uncomfotable being in the same room as him. I guess I have a few questions: Has this happened to anyone else, am I just being weird, and what can I do to feel comforable around him again? Thanks for listening, any advice is greaatly appreciated.

I'm going to clarify Tpysi's position. Most guys do look at porn. If we really need to go pull out the statistics on this, it can be done. It's something "most" guys do.

Also, it really isn't that big of a deal. Some guys do take it too far, though. If you're addicted to it, then it's a bad thing, just as with anything else.

i understood his point i just wanted to disagree that ALL guys look at porn it isnt a big deal but not all guys do, and the stats is about 9 out of 10. anyway just so you know my dad looks at porn and leaves it out and everything so i know how un comfortable it can make someone your not alone.

I think that she should talk to the dad honestly and say that she came to see it accidentally, and maybe dad shouldn't do that on the pay per view if it is going to be offensive to others in the house.

If a young person tells her dad something that is difficult to say and the dad listens to him, that would be a really good growth experience. It would open up lines of communication that aren't always available.

If she doesn't tell her dad that he has offended her, and by the way--I feel that she has a right to be offended, then the dad will keep on doing it.

And soon the anger may spill over into another subject, and the dad will think that the daughter is over-reacting to something different. And the dad may never get the message.

Yes it is going to be difficult, but you can do it honey, just go on.

Well he must have had sex to have you as a daughter and gross as it is to think about, im sure sex was and is as enjoyable as it is for the rest of us.

Wether you're in a sexual relationship, have had one or are hoping to have one at some point, i'm sure when u hit 30 u wont just stop.

I'd suggest taking a deep breath, hugging him and trying to be nice, coz if he has to resort to porn then life can't be that great for him at the moment.

I went through a similar situation except:

I was looking in my parent's crawlspace for some of my old stuff in one of the boxes but instead found a box with about 50 movies in it!! Wow maybe Bambi will be in here! Or Fivole goes west! Nope....Just "Henry and the Naughty Puppies"? Whats this.....

And yes, that is basically...Yes..

It's really not a big deal that your Dad was watching these films. Most men I know do watch them and take care of business at the same time. There is nothing shameful or dirty about that.....

Maybe there is not as much sex in his life now, and this is his why of dealing with it...

Be thankful your Dad stays at home and does that, I know some of my kids friends Dads just go to bars all the time and hope to hook up with a bar fly or worse.

So in that text it's not bad. If it continues to bug you say something..or really just wait a few days and the feelings you are having will go away.

Then when you are a grown up woman one day, tell your Dad about the day that you found out he was healthy sexually....
