blackcat21
Yeah I've heard of this before too but I think it is absolutely ridiculous.. I wish people can stop looking at men/women relationships as "tests" and "games." What if the girl was just nervous or something distracted her? I mean, come on. Just a tad immature methinks. You can't judge a person's whole character based on one tiny little thing she did.. thats ridiculous. Link to comment

As long as there are men and women, and dating and attraction, the games shall remain! Link to comment
designer71
I am 34 and started dating when cars didn't always have automatic locks, and I was actually taught by my Father to unlock a guy's door for him after he lets you in! I was thrown off when guys started having automatic door locks and openers! So I would say, I would've opened your door, but your automatic locks beat me to it! I obviously don't think anyone should read too much into this one way or another, was it Casino DeNiro said that in, or was it something else? I've seen all his movies and I forget which one it was! metro23
It means nothing, some of the most insane women I have ever met passed the door test. I dont use it any longer Link to comment

Sisyphus
Pulling a game like this is a lot more selfish than neglecting to unlock a car door or whatever. Here's a better way to see if someone is selfish: Connect. If you still can't tell, you still havent connected. This crap is divisive and will make it harder to actually get to know your date. Jane0815
So what does DeNiro say to do if the woman managed to slip the key out of your hand, and you walk around to your side and she's LOCKED the entire car? And if she passes this test, what's the next? Link to comment
Dating Coach
So you're one your first date with your new lady and you're walking to your car. You walk her over to the passenger door, unlock it, and open it for her to get in. Then you walk around the back, and look in the window. If she doesn't reach over and unlock the door for you, you drop her off and say goodbye because you just saw the tip of the iceberg of her selfishness... I just saw that on a movie and thought I'd share it...sounds like good advice to me... I've heard this rule and I think it's worthless. There is no way you can judge a persons character over something like this. Link to comment
_Just_a_girl
I always appreciate it when the guy I'm with opens my door first. I like to lean over and unlock his too. Sometime I forget, sometimes I'm still getting myself together, sometimes I'm still trying to close my own door... sometimes he's already around and opening his before I can lean over. Hopefully there are other things that let him know I'm interested and appreciative. Link to comment
