Hi Casket

Any genre will do but i prefer a bit of rock or even metal

Well lately, i've hearing this song. By one side just to learn and practice it with my guitar, and by the other hand.. just cause i felt identified in somehow.

Maybe sound creepy or very aggressive to your taste..

Its a Death-Metal genre song called "Nymphetamine" from Cradle of Filth

I'll explain you why i've posted it here..

The video of the song its about a vampire who kills himself by all the suffering that he passed when his loved one left him, and that girl talks with him on his grave feeling some regret about her decision of leaving and some kind of guilt by the death of the vampire (who she had loved)

At the same time, the vampire also regrets too about killing himself for this girl who is some kind of addiction to him..

Its very methaphorical song where the singer try to vent out all the feelings he had about a girlfriend he had and all the pain that caused him the breakup, also talks about his addiction calling her "nymphetamine" ( notice that.. nymph= The mitology beauties.. etamine= like a alussion to the drugs- addiction ) ..

He just got tired of feeling like that:

Sick and weak from my condition This lust, this vampyric addiction

Cradle of Filth - Nymphetamine

Laid to the river

Midsummer, I waved

A "V" of black swans

On with hope to the grave

And though Red September

With skies fire-paved

I begged you appear

Like a thorn for the holy ones

Cold was my soul

Untold was the pain

That i faced when you left me

Like a rose in the rain....

So I swore to the razor

That never, enchained

Would your dark nails of faith

Be pushed through my veins again

Bared on your tomb

I'm a prayer for your loneliness

And would you ever soon

Come above onto me?

For once upon a time

On the binds of your loneliness

I could always find the slot for your sacred key

Six feet deep is the incision

In my heart, that barless prison

Discoulours all with tunnel vision

Sunsetter...

Nymphetamine

Sick and weak from my condition

This lust, this vampyric addiction

To Her alone in full submission

None better...

Nymphetamine

Nymphetamine, Nymphetamine...

Nymphetamine girl.

Nymphetamine, Nymphetamine...

My Nymphetamine girl.

Wicked with your charm

I'm circled like prey

Back in the forest

Were whispers persuade

More sugar trails

More white lady laid

Than pillars of salt...

(keeping Sodom at at bay)

Fold to my arms

Hold their message away

And dance out to the moon

As we did in those golden days

Christening stars

I remember the way

We were needle and spoon

Mislaid in the burning hay

Bared on your tomb

I'm a prayer for your loneliness

And would you ever soon

Come above onto me?

For once upon a time

On the binds of your loneliness

I could always find the slot for your sacred key

Six feet deep is the incision

In my heart, that barless prison

Discoulours all with tunnel vision

Sunsetter...

Nymphetamine

Sick and weak from my condition

This lust, this vampyric addiction

To Her alone in full submission

None better...

Nymphetamine

Nymphetamine, Nymphetamine...

Nymphetamine girl.

Nymphetamine, Nymphetamine...

My Nymphetamine girl.

Cold was my soul.. Untold was the pain.. That i faced when you left me .. Like a rose in the rain....

That's what really got me from this song..

Good Luck! Take care

Cheers. Anything that you can just listen to, to heal. The song i was talking about was about a guy who broke up with his ex and is being all positive about it, saying things like "every now and then i think about you, its bringing me closer to closure". Those kind of songs.

Hello again Casket!

Im glad you liked that song

Im posting this one that really helped me (and still its helping me) its:

Metallica - Until It Sleeps

Until It Sleeps

Where do I take this pain of mine.

I run but it stays right by my side.

So tear me open and pour me out

There's things inside that scream and shout,

And the pain still hates me

So hold me until it sleeps.

Just like a curse, just like a stray.

You feed it once and now it stays,

Now it stays.

So tear me open but beware

There's things inside without a care,

And the dirt still stains me

So wash me until I'm clean.

It grips you so hold me

It stains you so hold me

It hates you so hold me

It holds you so hold me

Until it sleeps.

So tell me why you've chosen me

Don't want your grip

Don't want your greed

Don't want it

Now tear me open make you gone

No more can you hurt anyone,

And the fear still shakes me

So hold me, until it sleeps

It grips you so hold me

It stains you so hold me

It hates you so hold me

It holds you, holds you,

holds you until it sleeps

I don't want it want it

want it want it want it no

So tear me open but beware

There's things inside without a care,

And the dirt still stains me,

So wash me till I'm clean.

Now tear me open make you gone

No longer will you hurt anyone,

And the hate still shapes me,

So hold me until it sleeps

Another songs that i think you should listen from Metallica are: "Unforgiven" "Unforgiven II" and "Ain't my * * * * * " ( This last one, i won't posted it due to obvious reasons )

NOTE: Feel free to PM anybody here

See ya

My all time favorite rock band, and one that never lets me down in any situation...god this could easily get me caught haha, but yea...TRUSTcompany, anything off of their CD The Lonely Position Of Neutral. And again, this could easily reveal who I am due to recent circumstances hah, but if you like acoustic rock songs...I've really gotten into a new band called Time and Distance, they have a website address link removed where you can hear any one of their songs and read most of the lyrics, I especially like "lost in me." I guess I may as well keep going, umm another new band Aphasia, you'd have to download their song "then again," but they have other great songs too. Valencia is another new band, not hard rock, more punk, but the song "Away we go" is good for thinking that you were the best thing in their life, and it was their wrong choice to let you go. Hope these help, enjoy!

I like "In the End" by Linkin Park myself. It helped me get mad and not miss the ex so much. An absolute must if you're going NC, you don't want to be thinking about the good parts of the relationship, that will just drive you insane. If I didn't have that song to listen to, I think I'd still be getting dragged back to the ex everytime she felt lonely.

YEAH! I Love that song!

I used to hear it cause i felt very identified with the song's meaning:

"I tried so hard ..And got so far

But in the end.. It doesn't even matter

I had to fall.. To lose it all

But in the end .. It doesn't even matter "

and all the 2nd verse:

"One thing, I don't know why

It doesn't even matter how hard you try,

keep that in mind.. I designed this rhyme,

to explain in due time ..I tried so hard

In spite of the way you were mocking me

Acting like I was part of your property

Remembering all the times you fought with me

I'm surprised it got so (far)

Things aren't the way they were before

You wouldn't even recognize me anymore

Not that you knew me back then

But it all comes back to me (in the end)

You kept everything inside and even though I tried, it all fell apart

What it meant to me will eventually be a memory of a time when I"

That part:

"I've put my trust in you.. Pushed as far as I can go"

It helped me a lot when any sad memory or guilt-regret feelings cames into my mind and then i unloaded unto my guitar.

To me has been a really therapeutical stuff! Hehe

Thanks guys!!!

Especially Lonelyinasmalltown. I love linkin park and i never knew the significance behind "In The End". Now that i listen to it.... everything applys to me... everything. As i stated at the start, everyone should take a look at AudioVent - The Energy. That song has helped me out alot too.

Im not going to listen to "Since you been gone" by Kelly, not that i dont like the song, but my ex does and i know she would be listening to it. Thanks very much though!

Cheers guys and gals!

the this is hardcore album by pulp helped me through a break-up - its all about heartbreak and broken relationships..

especially this song

Without you my life has become a hangover without end.

A movie made for TV: bad dialogue,

bad acting, no interest.

Too long with no story & no sex.

Is it a kind of weakness

to miss someone so much?

To wish the day would go away?

Like you did yesterday.

Just like you did yesterday.

& I can't think of a way to get through this pain:

To be happy again to make it all alright & I know it must be bad

'cos sitting here right now,

all I know is I can't even think,

I can't even think of anything clever to

say, to say

So I say why pretend any longer?

'Cos I need you here with me.

It's obvious that I miss you so much

so please say you're gonna stay.

So please say you're gonna stay.

So please say you're gonna stay.

The night is getting darker

now and there's nothing on TV

but I'll sit tight 'til morning light.

Yeah, I'll wait until the day.

Until the day that you say you're gonna stay

  • 9 months later...

Lots of good ones mentioned already. I'm showing my age here, but another of the Very Best Healing Song is REO Speedwagon's Time for Me to Fly...

I've been around for you

I've been up and down for you

But I just can't get any relief

I've swallowed my pride for you

I've lived and lied for you

But you still make me feel like a thief

You got me stealin' your love away 'cause you never give it

Peeling the years away and we can't relive it

Oh I make you laugh and you make me cry

I believe it's time for me to fly

You said we'd work it out

You said that you had no doubt

That deep down we were really in love

Oh, but I'm tired of holding on

To a feeling I know is gone

I do believe that I've had enough

I've had enough of the falseness of a worn out relation

Enough of the jealousy and the intoleration

Oh I make you laugh and you make me cry

I believe it's time for me to fly

Time for me to fly, oh, I've got to set myself free

Time for me to fly - and that's just how it's got to be

I know it hurts to say goodbye

But it's time for me to fly
