Perseus,
I am a student majoring in Visual Communications; nonetheless, I also enjoy the preppy look, which is a look that not only looks nice, but it never goes out of style and it states that you "care" about yourself. Here are some of the things that you would need to think of when you shop for the preppy look: (1) slacks and tops must fit properly, no baggy pants, shirts, etc. (2) Brand names to look for: Dockers, Brooks Brothers, Club Room, Bill Blass and Oxford. (3) Styles of long/short sleeve button down shirts: solid cotton (except black), plaid cotton ... yes plaid ... it's versitile with different colors of pants and a must for the preppy look. (4) Styles of sweaters: classic cable knit, classic wool soild, classic cotton patterned, nordic sweaters. (5) Styles of pants: Kakis with pleats and corduroy with pleats. (6) Socks: Dockers cotton casual dress socks. (7) Polo style shirts can be solid, stripped or have a classical pattern. (8) styles of shoes: brown seude or lether, but I would recommend brown seude. (9) Always have your shirt tucked in. (10) Always wear a belt. (11) When wearing a sweater with a shirt underneath, be sure that the collar is fixed strait and the shift cuffs slightly show from underneath of the sweather's cuffs. (12) Make sure that shoes are always clean and in good condition. (13) Shave daily. (14) Hair must be at a medium length and preferreably styled to the side. (15) No earrings, body piercings or tattoos. Finally, wear your new woredrobe with pride and enjoy being preppyfied.
Yours truly,
Greg
