  1. i am 17 years old, weigh 122 pounds. I lift weights, but don't do much cardiovascular activity, though i just had PE last year and ran a lot. My blood pressure is 120/80, which is normal, but my heart rate is 100 beats per minute. I was wondering why it would be so high if i am healthy. Can stress or anxiety cause higher heart rates?
  2. i want to get about 125 grams of protein a day, and can never get there by eating normal foods. does anyone know how to make a good protein drink.
  3. well, i don't know the names of the lifts, but here is what i do. My main focus is the arms, chest, and abs. hold dumbell by my side, lift it with one arm by flexing my elbow (classic lift for bicep) hold dumbell with two hands behind my head, lift it above my head (seems to work triceps) hold two dumbells at my side, raise them outwards (like a T) lift dumbell over my head, starting at shoulder position two different kinds of bench press; one is where i just push the dumbells away from my body, the other is where i start with the dumbells at my side and move my arms sideways in a hugging motion bringing them together those are the lifts that i do. I basically go by what muscles feel tired when i am done lifting, but don' t really know if it is doing any good.

I also have another question. when lifting weights, i can notice my biceps and triceps getting bigger, but don't see much in my chest or shoulders. i'm just wondering if i'm doing the right exercises for those muscles or if it is simply more difficult to notice growth in those areas.
  5. thanks for the advice PT. the problem about eating a lot is that i always seem to have something on my mind that stops me from eating (most of the time a girl). I wish i could eat more but i always feel like throwing up. its got to a point that i don't eat until 3:00 PM each day. i drink tons of milk so i don't lose weight.
  6. does anyone know how to convert bench press from dumbbells to barbells. For example, I do 50 lbs each arm with dumbbells, but could obviously do more with both arms. I want to know how much my max would be for bench press. Also, i have been lifting weights but have not been gaining any weight. I'm 5'9" , 125 lbs, and have lost five pounds over a year. I don't seem to be getting any skinnier or anything. Can you lose weight and still gain muscle? what is the best food for gaining muscle mass? i drink a lot of milk but am never hungry, so i can never eat that much.
  7. i do crunches, but see really no reason for it except looks. at least with arms you can intimidate. i was just wondering if it matters to girls that much or not.

  9. personally breat size doesn't matter to me that much, but if a girl wanted to get them, I would have absolutely nothing against it. if they were too big i would get a little scared.

  11. am a senior in high school. had a crush on a freshman girl since the beginning of the year. recently have been alone with her (just us) in a class once a week. In the class, i help her with her homework. crush got much bigger the first time we were alone. never talk outside of the class. no one else knows except me. i either want to get over the crush or make her my girlfriend. am very shy. crush has lasted many months, makes me sort of depressed. i have no idea if she is interested in me at all. these are my questions: should i tell her? (if so, how) should i quit the class and not say anything (would need a good reason for quitting)? should i keep my mouth shut and continue being alone with her? anything will help. i have become very irritable and kind of an s.o.b. since i have been seeing her. every week i tell myself to tell her, but once i am alone with her, i freeze up.
  12. If I was the guy, I would want you to tell me what you felt. Even if he didn't like you, he would feel flattered and would reject you as nice as he could. He's probably shy though, and might not act interested in you if his life depended on it.
  13. I usually like girls that have a pretty face. The body usually doesn't matter to me that much. that's just me.
