okay, basically, I got a forwarded email from my gf of a letter she wrote to her ex. It said how much she misses her and needs to see her. Is she cheating on me?

Talk to her in person about it. Wouldn't let your relationship go to ruin thru something virtually.

I agree with the other poster but do keep in mind that people nowadays hide their their cheating episodes, they aren't that likely to confess when asking them, unless they're either caught red-handed in the act or caught up in their lies with sufficient evidence.

I think that if she does miss her, and she said so, then at the time it is likely she was not cheating. Does that mean she won't or won't end things with you to be with her? No. It may also be that you for her are simply second best to the ex. If so, do you want to be in that position?

I think that this email gives you a reason to believe that she is cheating on you but, it does not give you any direct proof. I would focus more on what are you going to do when/if you find out that your gf is cheating on you.
