  1. Ok I did well on the presentation... thanks to all who tried helping me on this.
  2. Ok I'm reading it through it... hopefully this will help me out. Thanks
  3. I have a presentation on this tomorrow and have to explain what each stanza really means but I don't understand anything at all. I don't get it.... so I'm lost. Or should I just start inventing things but think the professional knows what it's really about so it'll probably won't help me at all. My reading comprehension skill in both poetry and songs with sophisticated words is very abysmal. I tried going over this song again and still don't understand anything at all. If anyone is into poetry or lyrics by nature.... you can help out... say what you know..
  4. Does anyone have any idea what on earth does this song means? What does each 5 stanza means? The song is the following: The Sounds of Silence by Simon & Garfunkel Hello darkness, my old friend, I've come to talk with you again, Because a vision softly creeping, Left its seeds while I was sleeping, And the vision that was planted in my brain Still remains Within the sound of silence. In restless dreams I walked alone Narrow streets of cobblestone, 'Neath the halo of a street lamp, I turned my collar to the cold and damp When my eyes were stabbed by the flash of a neon light That split the night And touched the sound of silence. And in the naked light I saw Ten thousand people, maybe more. People talking without speaking, People hearing without listening, People writing songs that voices never share And no one dare Disturb the sound of silence. "Fools" said I, "You do not know Silence like a cancer grows. Hear my words that I might teach you, Take my arms that I might reach you." But my words like silent raindrops fell, And echoed In the wells of silence And the people bowed and prayed To the neon god they made. And the sign flashed out its warning, In the words that it was forming. And the sign said, "The words of the prophets are written on the subway walls And tenement halls." And whisper'd in the sounds of silence.
  5. Ok this thread is 7 years old.. why was it digged-up? It's interest the OP received almost flaming comments and ''I would... if I was him'' rather than advice. In addition, she was only 16 years old at the time (an underage child) so why the harsh judgment?
  6. If it had been 7 years and she was 16 then, it means she probably changed by now. Why condone this when they were young. She's already 23, has moved on with her life and by now must have learned her lesson....
  7. Wow that's some anger you have. But well deserved. I bet he didn't even care about you afterwards nor care about amending what he's done...
  8. It's probaby because there is nothing more fun than being married to your SO and the one you will commitment for a very long time (possibly for life if you guys don't end up divorce later on).....
  9. It wasn't because of your nagging the reason he proposed to you. He said it himself that if he didn't wanted to propose he would have never had no matter no much you nagged him. He did because he wanted to. Be happy that he finally did what you wanted to and don't focus on how annoying you were before else he can change his mind and return the wedding ring... Be happy now... Make him happy..
  10. Wow this thread got digged up after 5 years and I bet the original poster isn't there no more. Anyways all types of rape happen. Don't see why many think that's funny. Why laugh at something so horrible that happened to someone????
  11. Yea don't lose it if you're not in love with the person, I see no point. No I never experienced taking a guy's virginity rather it was the opposite for me, (sadly I not really in love with him no more, I want to see what's out there if I had the chance to) but if I had the chance, I would tell him to do it because he feels ready not for the sake of getting it over with. But then bad thing is if you're someone's first, then you tend to get somewhat attach to that person for a long while, yea hard to just let go of your first, as that will always be on your mind, that's what marks your sexual history afterall.
  12. Thank you for the reply, was gonna answer ya back for LOL, I must have read it quickly and missed out. Anyways better late than never, yes I'm still affected by this from time to time, it's like this demon within me comes haunting me back. I will get to counseling sometime this year though. And still can't overcome it, I fooled myself thinking I would actually get rid of those images. Well good thing is at least I'm safe and secured with my LD boyfriend, but he knows this and is warn that none of that will be tolerated, thus the reason for an immediate break up. Sad thing they take this as a whatever normal venting out issue, I don't see it normal. I would get completely disgusted if any man lays a hand on me, yuck, heck I wouldn't even want to touch him again nor see his face.
  13. I did notice it, I was responding to a poster not the person doing the thread. I did not notice he long responded me back.
  14. None taken and yes I'm already head over heels. Logic isn't working that much now, just let my guard down, bad move but I trust him. Bad thing is I'm not really prepare how I would take a blow like that if it ever happens. One thing for sure is I won't be expressed that much in my future relationship. But yes if not taking back a cheater, love can do funny thing. Taking back the dumper, LOL, done that. Funny if I get dump, I'll still take him back. Guess I was harsh back then, considering my age, lol.
  15. Kool a dinosaur history poem, nice word usage!!!!!!!!
  16. Never hear of that. Wish I can give you the answer but I can't. I don't even like rings, never wear them, lol. Maybe she likes it that way.
  17. Wow, this thread keeps on going, and it has been like what, 4 yrs. old already, LOL!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. Yea, lol we didn't really notice. When I saw how old it was, I stopped writting while the others keep giving answers.
  19. I'm sorry to hear that this has happened to you. If you want to work it out and she is remorseful as you stated, then she has to answer all your questions and explained why she did it. Then you can detail all her e-mail accounts and ims. Also do let her know that this is the only second chance you will give her and next time is out the door along with divorce papers. But I would recommend on divorcing her because it clearly seems that she is only sorry she got caught. What's concerning is that she would have still done it if you had not found out, now that's alarming because then for how long would she have kept that a secret.
  20. True, people will always expect something you don't want to do. This happens everyday so anyways you are creative there!!!!!!!!
  21. Helpless can sometimes be a negative event in our daily save, but just remember that there are still people that care about you. Nice poem by the way!!!!!!!!!!
  22. Wow, that's very powerful. Don't worry about those exs', they're losers who don't deserve you. There's still fresh apples there, throw away the bad ones.
