Hello,

I'm a 20 year old gal looking for some much needed advice on anxiety.

I have been suffering with anxiety disorder for nearly 3 years now, (after going through some tragic events.)

It's really starting to take over my life now, i'm loosing my friends and social life!

I've tried counciling for months but no luck, i've been brushed off by my doctor and handed diazepam to help me, but they do not work for me, my anxiety levels are too high!

I was trying to look at alternative therapies for anxiety and came accross a drug called seredyn. all i seem to find is good reviews on it, so is there anybody out there that has used this drug and can tell me there experience with it please. or anything you have taken, herbal would be best.

Also i do not have millions of pounds to spend on "fixing" myself, so if theres anybody who can tell me any good websites with free advice or cures, anything that a fellow sufferer has tried to cure their anxiety then please please get back to me, i'm pretty much on my own here and desperately need help!

Thankyou in Advance,

Blu x

Hi there,

I have had panic attacks half my life and became agoraphobic in 1999. I still have bouts of it time to time. I took Xanax for awhile but hated it. It hindered my ability to cope with the real issues and where my anxiety is stemming from.

Deep breathing, A LOT of self talk, keeping a journal, talking to friends and family, and exercise all helped tremendously. I also see a social worker. I have not taken meds for my anxiety in 6 years. You are definitely not alone with your anxiety.

(((hugs)))

Small world. I actually signed in this morning to see if anybody had posted anything on this topic. I started having panic attacks about 6 months ago. They started after a health scare and after about a month, I didn't have them anymore so never went to the doctor about it. However, just this past week, I had another one. It's also related to the same health issue. Hopefully all will be well and they'll go away on their own, but I, too, was wondering if anybody else here had problems with them and was looking for ways to cope.

Do Not Worry

25"thereforeeee I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? 26Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life ?

28"And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' 32For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34thereforeeee do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Life is for us to enjoy, everyone who worries dies just like a person who is carefree in the end what have you gained by worrying over all these things?

Tomorrow there will be another day, and if not so what? Those medicines will only reduce the symptoms they don't solve the problem , my bro said it best 'just don't be interested in it anymore' , things only become a problem if you make a problem out of it. Ok, it might factually afflict you, but caring about it is a mental thing.

You don't want your mind to be a washing machine going over and over the same things worrying forever. You see whenever you worry think about a calm lake inside a cave, no wind and thus the water is completely serene. That's how you have to be emotionally inside.
