this might be fun/helpful for people who are in pain (like me! haha) anybody got some great break up anthems that you can play over and over and sort of make you feel better? I know its nothing more than a quick fix that leaves when the song is over, but anything to give me 5 minutes of relief so i can quit worrying about everything and get some food in my stomach would be awsome.

I've always loved Pat Benatar's - Hit me with your best shot. This one is definitely my "make me feel good" song.

Also, Alicia Keys - Karma.

I just recently heard this one by Keith Urban - You'll think of me

And here are some cheesy 80's songs:

Pebbles - Girlfriend

Jody Watley - Looking for a new love

Quarterflash - Harden my heart

there's tons, but these songs were on the radio when I was going through my break-up:

Air dry - Teddy Geiger

Unwritten - Natasha Bedingfield

kelly clarkson - walk away

Here's a website with a compilation of "best break up songs for moving on"

weird Al has a song with that title too..

--------------------------------

Since you've been gone

Well I feel like I've been chewing on tin foil

Since you've been gone

It's like I got a great big mouthful of cod liver oil

Well, I'm feeling like I stuck my hand inside a blender and turned it on

You know I've been in a buttload of pain

Since you've been gone

(Well Since you've been gone)

Since you've been gone

I couldn't feel any worse if you dropped a two-ton bowling ball on my toes

(Since you've been gone)

It couldn't hurt any more if you shoved a red hot cactus up my nose

(Yap yap dibbie dow bop bop

duba doom daba dawm baba dowm baba dowm baba dowm

Since you've been gone

Well, it feels like I'm getting tetanus shots every day

Since you've been gone

It's like I got an ice cream headache that won't go away

Ever since the day you left me, I've been so miserable, my dear

I feel almost as bad as I did

When you were still here

She left me on Friday - Shed Seven

She left me on friday and ruined my weekend

She thinks we're still best friends she thinks we're still alright

To find if all the places that shine are anything like mine

To find out if all the fridays that come are gonna make you feel welcome

To find out if all the style you've got s'gonna push you to the top

To find out if all the fridays you'll choose are where you'll still lose

Perhaps this one only applies to certain breakups.... but it has helped me GREATLY in the past. (Present situation excluded) One of those spiteful songs that make you feel good, even though its a little mean....

Blink 182 - You F*%!ed up my life.

(I hope I dont get in trouble for trying to hide the word.... but it IS a song title.)

Lol yes, for people desperate enough to google "break up songs" like myself

Ha, I've done that. I forgot about it. I found it in December when my ex and I broke up the second time. Now, it's the third and the last. But thanks for reminding me about that site!

Here's a few I've been blasting. They're all older, but they work for me.

Here I Go Again- Whitesnake

One Day in Your Life- Anastasia

And of course Stronger by Britney

and Survivor by Christina Aguilera

Oold pop classics: Someday- Mariah Carey

Prisoner of Love- also by Mariah Carey

There's more, I know of it. But I like these because they're empowering. I don't like Kelly Clarkson's "Since You've Been Gone" personally, because the lyrics are sad.

I feel that if you go through a break up you should choose lyrics that say, "This is the best thing for me. I don't need you. You were screwing up my life." That kind of thing. Because hey, if they dumped you, you're obviously better off with out them and they don't deserve you. And if you dumped them, you obviously had good reason.
