hello boys and girls, ive been thinking. who, in your opinion, do you think has it better in life. a guy or a girl. for instance girls get laid whenever they want but more often than not, the guys take off as soon as its over. and on the other hand, most guys have a hard time getting all the women they want. so do you think anyone is better off and why? who would you rather be? guy or girl?

i personally think we r all equal because we all have our bad points.Girls might have it easier to have sex and get relationships but they end up getting raped easier and sexually harassed.Where as guys have to instigate and go after a girl but they hardly have any sexual abuse.Girls have the crappy end of the stick for having a child because they have to give birth to this child and it really hurts for them.But then girls also dont get drafted into war where as guys do so its basically in everything it feels about 50/50 so it basically feels as we r all equal.So to there are basically subjects where a male has it good and then female doesnt and vice versa so im glad with being a man since that is what i am.

I think women have it harder they have to battle with equal opportunities in the work place even now in the year 2000!!

 

plus there is PMT, period pains, child birth....

 

then there is make up and hair every day takes about an hour each morning when the men I know roll out of bed and are ready in 20 mins!!!

 

I'm not saying its easy for men a lot of them have the same issues as us image, problems in the workplace etc but I personally think women can get too emotional whereas men can distant them selves from situations a little easier.

It's WAY better being male... for some reason nature didn't intend a fair world order. Being a woman has MANY disadvantages!!

 

-Women get periods and all the painful complications that come with it

-Women tend to be physically weaker than men

-Women are not as athletic

-Women have to go through the pain of childbirth, men don't

-Women have to get up at 3am to breastfeed the baby while the guy just sleeps uninterrupted

-Women tend to be the ones who get pressured into sex by guys

-Women are more likely to be raped and become victims of crime

-Women have more issues with workplace discrimination

-Women have lower tolerance to alcohol

-Women get emotionally hurt more easily

-Women constantly have to worry about the possibility of getting pregnant when in a sexual relationship

This is mostly true...

 

If we were to open a draft like we had in Vietnam, then no, most likely women would not be included.

 

However, what is going on currently is what some people are referring to as the "back door" draft. Where former army reserves are being called back to active duty. I just read an article about a woman who is trying to get out of her orders by getting pregnant. So, in this "draft," women -are- being called up.

 

And as far as women and men having a better/harder life, I think it depends on each individual, and not a gender in general. Women may have to deal with childbirth, but that woman also has a -choice- as to whether or not she wants a child. Somethings we can't choose, but the ones we can we cannot claim our lives are "harder" than the opposite sex if we chose to make them that way.

True for the average male, not true if your a tall male. A plain t-shirt cost me $20 and a good shirt cost me $36. Shoes are always $80+ as I wear size 15 with a width of 4E. But I bet you if you shop around you find cheaper clothes. I do and I basically only wear one brand of shirts and t-shirts and for shorts and pants its what ever I can find for a good price and for shoes I am basically limited to one brand.

I was hired by an HR staff of almost all women. In fact, most offices I know of are mostly women on HR... My job before this was a woman, my job before that was a woman...

Depends on where you go. And if you don't want to be "robbed blind" don't have long hair. It takes more hair care products and more time to cut longer hair, so, duh, of course you're going to pay more.

 

Dry cleaners can cost men who work in an office just as much as it costs a woman. If you're really annoyed by it, get the at home dry cleaner kit and save.

This is true, but there are birth control pills out now that can control that. If I were you, I'd be more worried about menopause when it comes than a period.

If your period is that painful, there are many different options available to you to help alleviate the pain. I'm on birth control and it's a rarity that I have cramps.

I don't agree with this at all. I do not feel a need or a desire to reproduce. I'm quite happy not having a child and I doubt I'll ever be inclined to have one. If you really want kids, but don't want to go through the pain of childbirth, adopt.

 

Besides, every woman goes through pregnancy different. I have 3 co-workers who either have kids or are currently pregnant. 2 of them had easy pregnancies, one is currently having awful side effects. Depends on the woman.

From many of your answers, I'm already wondering why you care so much about what other people think of you. If you are hungry, eat whatever the heck you want. Who cares what someone else thinks about it? It's your body and your life, not theirs.

Once again, appearance issues fails to make your life worse. Cellulite is also a product of aging. It happens.

 

I just think too many things that have been listed pro women especially, but some pro men things as well, are just based on things that are choices and things that are natural. We can't control them, but we learn to cope with them. It's part of becoming who you are and learning to deal with what nature has given you. Trying to decide whose life is worse is just petty and negative to me. Especially with, as we have seen here, both sides arguments can be torn apart by the opposite party as well as someone playing for the same "team."

 

While this topic was good in theory, I have yet to see any valid evidence over why either side is worse off than the other.

i really appreciate your answers, i really thought it was intresting to know that lines are longer in female bathrooms.

 

i was thinking along the lines of how ladies find it easier to communicate than most men. for many men the inability to communicate can be frustrating and could even mean worse things like inability to find a mate. whereas a lady needs just to smile at a guy and he comes drooling. i migth be wrong on that but i feel like women are more complete beings, like an upgrade of the male species. they communicate better, they look better, they can use both sides of their brains simultaneously, have multiple orgasms, can create life, and to a fair degree enjoy a larger amount of sexual power than men. correct me if im wrong i just want to know what you ladies think about my ideas.

My opinion has nothing to do with that aspect of gender (getting laid), I would like to clarify. But I would most certainly rather be a guy.

Who are the ones labeled "inferior," "incompetant," since the beginning of Man? Not to say this was an accurate depiction of all women, but all stereotypes have some truth in them--no matter how small. I don't want to be one of those statistics.

Lots of people here are being negative, talking about the bad things about being a guy or a girl. So instead I am only going to list positive things I enjoy about being a guy:

 

1. Being strong, tall, and able to protect people (including girls)

2. Natural born leader, able to protect and inspire people

4. Being the lead during salsa dance, and making girls dreams come true on the salsa dance floor

It depends on what your goal in life is...

who, in your opinion, do you think has it better in life. a guy or a girl. for instance girls get laid whenever they want but more often than not, the guys take off as soon as its over. and on the other hand, most guys have a hard time getting all the women they want.

If a person's goal is to get all of the woman and get laid, then yah, I guess it is easier for a woman.

 

My goal is different. My goal is to establish myself so that I can settle into my in home and maybe have a family someday. In terms of that aspect, I would say that men have a higher advantage. Men get paid more. They move up the ladder a lot faster than women do. That's fact. Not only that, women end up having the babies. For most jobs, materinity leave isn't very beneficial.

 

In ending this, me personally, I think that this applies to both men and women- people who have the higher advantage in life are those who are true to themselves. If their goal is to remain authentic and live humbly without hurting others and using people along the way, then they're far more rich and successful than a person who's got tons of money, but lives a life full of lies. Like I said, it depends on each person's goals in life.

In this topic, all i've seen is people listing the faults with a gender. Mostly other than that is merely others challenging these views. Why can't people understand that life is comprised to two genders, utterly equal in their purpose and relevance upon earth.

Your generlisations regarding women's ability to communicate better than men are really inaccurate also.. this massively stereotypes men as some form of life which fails to possess any means of humane ability to transfer their feelings and emotions to others. Men can be far better communicaters that women, and similarly the same can be said for the opposite circumstances. To assume that in this world, one gender simply possesses this ability, and one doesn't is nothing more than stupid really..

Basically, life consists of a delicate balance which is constantly kept moving and alive through the mediums of two powers, each which must work in unison to achieve this goal. Without women, men would be completely helpless. Similarly, without men, women would stand no chance. Is it really that difficult to understand that each gender plays their equal part within life, and that makes each one vitally important in it's own right?

Seriously, all men learn being nice never works, and when they start acting like MEN then woman just can't get enough. Woman are attracted to men no matter what they say bothers them about them.

I don't think there is enough evidence to prove that men or women have it better. Plus the topic creator started this debate saying that women have a better time getting a chance to have sex...how ridiculously irrelevant! That alone doens't mean that women have it better than men. Anyway, I think that it depends on the person (personality) more than the gender (since so far some people have used stereotypes to prove thier points).
