Jaeiyola
So I've finally decided to stop moping around and be sad all the time. Been listening to "Let It Be" by The Beatles constantly and then it hit me: I didn't know anymore "get over him/her or be happy songs". So I figure we could all try and create some sort of good song list. I'm tired of crying at every love or breakup song that comes on the radio. This is my first step to healing. Sorry if this has been done before. Link to comment

amandamarie
"Over You" by Chris Daughtry. Every line fits my situation perfectly. Yes!! Both of his cd's have been my favorite soundtrack since my breakup...there are songs for any mood, and for me, there have been a LOT of different moods since the breakup. "It's not over", "over you" and "what about now?" are all great songs for all your different moods on his 1st cd, and on the current one, "no surprise", "ghost of me" and the last song "call your name" are all fantastic (although can be depressing!). DieTeufelKatze
This breakup, the song that's been the most meaningful to me is "My Skin", Natalie Merchant. Maybe for me it's because it's about accepting the pain and how I'm beginning to feel atrophied emotionally. I know I'm going to be scarred for some time from this experience. I'm doing okay, but I'm realizing that part of the grieving experience is acceptance, of everything about it... the highs and lows. For me it's also that my ex is very walled off from everyone, including me, and in some ways I wish he would acknowledge the pain and suffering I'm having to face with this. He's probably too selfish to even think about it though, frankly. The first three days after the breakup when I had the house to myself at night, I would keen and wail and sob, and listen to this song. It helped me, maybe it's not the most positive and uplifting song, but sometimes you have to just let out the sorrow. Link to comment

Nappyloxs
Right this moment - Alicia Keys - It doesn't matter. Man, she is explaining exactly how I feel this week. I wish I could write songs. The opening line is about "wanting to be a millionaire" I use to drive to work or anywhere thinking about winning the lotto. But since the breakup, I only think of her. I don't even think of the lotto anymore. Link to comment
