LOL I don't think they get crushes on the actual characters... like dwarves and stuff or Inconnu's.......

Well maybe not these games, but i have seen some games on commercials and the females and even the males in them are really realistic looking and very good looking, so to a person who lives on those games i wonder if they do get a crush? Stranger things can happen i guess.

There is a young guy i used to work with who would salivate mentioning some of the hot female characters in some of those games. Blew my mind. But look how many men are in love with anime porn, so it is not totally unrealistic to think it might happen. LOL

One of the guys I am friends with that used to be addicted to WoW used to have a huge crush on one of the characters that were in his "guild." He then met up with the characters "owner," in other words the human controlling the character and realized he was obsessed with the character and not the human and that is when he quit playing. I have similar stories from others as well. So yeah I def believe it could happen.

i got hear someone having sex over that team speak thing last weekend...it was quite hilarious. my friend logged in and someone from his guild was like "keep the team speak on cause Im getting ready to have sex with this girl!" and sure enough about 10 mins later we heard it. I felt bad for the girl but though it even more amusing at how he felt the need to impress his WoW friends.

A guy I work with has a female 'toon (character). Someone in game was hitting on "her" and wouldn't leave "her" alone.

It was then I came up with a witty 5 word retort for him that used the same word 3 times:

Dude, I'm a dude, dude!

haha now that is a good one.

This game seriously makes me laugh hysterically. People are so serious about it. I guess I know why they call it World of WarCRACK now.

sorry to hear about your friends ditching you for the game. i have been playing for a few years now. i think i may be one of a select few. I do really enjoy playing, which is why i know not to stay subscribed. i limit myself to about 4 months a year. It is fact an addiction, like drugs, and maybe you shud treat it as such. When you discover your friend is strung out on crack, what would you do?

This thread is nearly four years old.

Yet sadly it's just as relevant today given the amount of "Ugh I hate WoW!" threads we get every week.

Time flies. I see I participated in this thread 4 years ago after about a year of playing WoW.

I am still playing, so is my husband. We are in a different guild than when I originally posted on this thread, and leaving the old guild actually broke up a couple of RL friendships with people who didn't particularly care for our leaving the old guild and/or had an issue with the way we left.

I still agree with everything I posted 4 years ago about this game...good, bad & indifferent.

It is a great distraction, a great addiction, fun, funny, boring, entertaining, time consuming and a lot of other things all at the same time. I've met some interesting & cool people....and I've met some people who I'd have been better off not knowing at all.

What I've noticed, though, is that it reflects RL in many ways. Because, ultimately, there are people playing it...and, ultimately, human behavior is what it is...whether you're dealing with someone 2 feet away from you or on the other side of the world through a bunch of wires and electronics.
