  1. Thank you very much. My sister and I just received a letter from him and a check for $500 to split, for no reason. The letter said something along the lines of,"I realize I don't do enough nice things for my sisters, so here is just a little something for you guys. Go shopping, whatever you want to do. Look at it as a bonus for having such an awesome brother." I try not to think about it too much now and it's a little easier to get through the day. I think about it but it's not so overwhelming. Thanks again for the encouraging words. He's coming home for a few weeks in April, yay!
  2. I'll make this short and sweet. My brother is currently serving in Iraq. Although he's the typical older brother that used to shoot his BB gun at my Barbie house [what can I say? We didn't have cable when we were younger], he still deep down is pretty caring though he doesn't like to show it. Okay that was kinda irrelevant. Anyway, he's been there since November, and I haven't thought too much about it until lately. I obviously can't talk to him very much, the last time I had a real conversation with him was Christmas Eve and he sounded really sad though he tried to sound tough. So I don't know exactly how he's doing, but I worry all the time now. I can't concentrate in school, I space out at work, and it keeps me up at night worrying about him. He's a Medic, so people reassure me that he's a little more protected, but still he's already been hit by 3 roadside bombs. He's been lucky so far, but what if he isn't the next time? I guess I just wanted to talk about it here because if I talk about it with my family, they get kinda sad too and nobody likes a sad sally I just wondered if anybody has some advice on how to keep my mind off of him, or any reassuring words that he'll be okay? Thanks a million and a HALF! PS- 2 days until my 18th birthday!
  3. I've gone 18 years [okay 2 days 'til I'm 18 ) without being under any "heading" or "group", and let me tell you I'm extremely happy about that. Being myself has allowed me to hang out with pretty much every different group there is at school and it feels good to get along with everybody. Whatever you look like isn't going to matter in a couple of years anyway. Buy whatever strikes your fancy, not what you think a person of a certain group would wear. If you end up wearing some crappy old moccasins with a polo or something, good for you! Seriously be yourself, it won't matter, in the end it's better not to be in any certain group.
  4. I am kinda sorta in your situation. For all you know, she might be feeling the same way as you. I don't think it would hurt to contact her, but just remember to hope for the best but prepare for the worst.
  5. Same exact thing happened with my sister, actually. I don't know how old you are, but I'm (almost) 18 and I know there's no way I could take on all the responsibilities, especially planning the bridal shower and all those kinds of things, that could get tough!! Despite not being her maid of honor, there are still plenty of things you can do with your sister to help her plan her wedding and make it as special as possible, I wouldn't worry about it too much.
  6. Some people don't even gain weight while on the pill, and if they do then it's not all that much.
