All I can say is timing. I think it has to be natural, not foced, but when the mood and feeling is right. Make sure your breath is fresh - LOL. Probably just a light kiss on the lips at first. If you are not sure how she feels, just make it light. I hope that helps.

Make sure the time is right, don't force the kiss because you feel you have to, do it because you want to. Make it slow, and meaningful. If you peck her fast, it might be weird for the both of you. Don't use an open-mouth kiss either, because she might not want to move that fast, and since you want it to be meaningful, an open-mouth kiss would definitly be too much for the first time. Just, make it natural, wait for the perfect moment, and just go for it.

In my opinion the best place really is a heath or something amongst trees, just some place really romantic - location is the most important thing I think. Also the two of you have to be alone. Additionally I find when it's dark it sets the mood a lot more. Good luck.
