Dottieflanogon
Someone that I know found my user name in psych forums .Basically they Googled my user name ,which directed them to my account and threads. I decided to change my user name 5 days ago so they cant follow me anymore. However, today I Googled my old user name just to see if my post will still show up on Google search ,if they look me up again. Unfortunately my new account still have connections to the old posts...everything is still linked together. Obviously they'll know my new name too (as it will show in the Google search). How long does it take for Google to clear cache? Am I better off requesting my account on that site to be Deactivated so I can start a new account with a new screen name? I am no longer comfortable posting personal and depressing threads without being anonymous Link to comment
ThatwasThen
Why not just open a new account rather then just changing your name on the old one? Link to comment
Seraphim
You can't just open a new account. Contact kamurj and ask for a new account. But don't just open one just opening more accounts than one is against the rules that everybody agreed to. Link to comment
Dottieflanogon
Its not on ENA, its on physch Forums. I have different user name there so its unlikely that they will find me here on this site.Even if they do, it won't be a big deal since the kind of threads I post here are not too personal unlike physch Forums Link to comment
Seraphim
Ooh ok. I would approach a moderator on that forum and ask if you can have a new account. Link to comment
Dottieflanogon
Yea I might have to resort into requesting a new account Link to comment
ThatwasThen
Check the other forum's rule before requesting a new account. Not all forums have the same rules. I know of one where several people have abandoned one account just to open a new one in order to maintain their anonymity. Link to comment
Dottieflanogon
I checked the forum rules and I didn't see anything regarding requesting a new account. On the hand , they can deactivate an account per request but your post will remain, just like most forum.I just wanted to be able to continue posting without my old account connected to the new one. I will Pm the site Admin and see what they say Link to comment
Dottieflanogon
I posted this thread here instead on that forum since the person who's following Will likely see this thread Link to comment

My old user name and the old threads still show up on google index search , connected to the new name .Anyways, I ended contacting the site and requested a new account for privacy issues.
