I actually feel it's highly disrespectful to keep trying after someone has said "no" more than once. It's saying that you know what they want more than they do (you don't)

 

It doesn't really matter what she said to her best friend. She had to tell her something as to why she keeps talking to you if she's not interested. Most people won't say "because I just like the attention".

 

Relationships can be tough. In order for them to work, you both have to KNOW that it's something you want. Even if you manage to "convince" her to give it a go, she'll likely flee at the slightest hint of a problem. You are better to find someone who actively wants to be with you.
