    Loving Yourself During Difficult Times

Loving yourself when you’re feeling at your worst can be difficult, even daunting. But having a relationship with yourself is an integral part of navigating tough times and keeping your spirit in balance. It’s all about using positive self-talk and understanding even small actions can make a difference.

When you’re feeling vulnerable, making time for yourself is essential. Even if it’s as simple as taking a few minutes to read a book, listen to calming music, or take a walk around your street, exercise or meditation can be great ways to relax a bit and open the door to self-love. Connecting with others is another important step. Friends, family—whoever you trust and feel comfortable with—can be excellent sources of support. Knowing that you’re not walking this journey alone is invaluable.

It’s completely normal to feel overwhelmed by a situation, but don’t forget to take a moment to recognize your power and progress. Celebrate even the smallest accomplishments and see your strengths in every choice and experience. Doing it will not only build your confidence, but remind you why you’re capable of greatness.

Nobody is perfect and it’s more than alright to make mistakes. Showing kindness and patience to yourself during those moments can make a world of difference. After all, we’d never expect someone close to us to be perfect, so why impose that expectation on ourselves? Acknowledge that fallibility is part of being human and accept where you are in your growth process.

Your interactions with others are just as important for self-love. People-pleasing, putting your needs before others’, and magnifying other’s opinions above your own can be unhealthy methods of connecting to someone else. the most significant partnership you’ll ever have is with yourself. Ultimately it’s up to you how much space you give that relationship and how far you let it grow.

It can seem hard to take control of your relationship with yourself as complicated circumstances arise. Confronting difficult times and standing in your truth isn’t easy, but loving yourself through it is absolutely possible. Radiating authenticity and owning who you are is always worth it.
