What will happen if both parties perform NC at the same time? and expecting the other party to make the first move?

I thought that myself...but then I remembered that NC isn't to do with the other person, it's about yourself and not wanting them to talk to you anymore. I know that doesn't really help, I told myself that as soon as I thought it. I think through the whole NC thing, you don't want to contact them, but at the same time you're also desperately searching for a reason to do just that. And you've got to resist!

NC shouldn't be initiated in the hopes of the other party 'making the first move'.

When NC is implemented, it is either done so someone can heal and then resume contact to enter a friendship OR it should be implemented as an indefinite measure.

 

It's not a game and as such, a "stand-off" shouldn't ensue.

I've thought that too a part of you believes that if you keep N/C hoping the other person will contact you then maybe that person feels the same. It's usually not true. And besides as the other two said. N/C is for you.

I think dumpers should be the ones thats breaks NC, since they decided that they no longer want you.

I would give my ex a second chance if she breaks NC ONLY to tell me that she was too harsh on me and that she recognizes she is wrong. If her pride doesn't let her admit she is wrong, then I dont want her.

Majord23 and SuperDave have been here a lot longer and understand this concept better than the rest of us. Personally I'm with you. I always wonder if NC is actually making things worse. What they say is the truth... but I still wonder.
