Should I give my boyfriend's parents xmas gifts?

I'm going to meet my bf parents for the 1st time at his family's xmas party. Do I need to bring something for his parents?

 

And if I do, should I expect him to get something for MY parents thereafter? However, he will probably not meet them in person since they do not live around here.

I would just bring them a bottle of wine or another little host/hostess gift honestly for something like that.

 

And no, you should not "expect" him to get something for them, particularly if he has not met them, or is not even meeting them. If he was, it would be considerate to get a small gift for their hospitality, but certainly not mandatory upon the initial meeting of someone whom is still a stranger.

I agree with RayKay, bring them something small. When I was dating my ex, the first holiday I had with him and his folks, I gave his parents a bottle of wine.

In my culture, it is customary you bring something the first time you visit a person's house. I think a box of chocolates, a bouquet of flowers, wine, any of those would be good.

I plan on making some zucchini bread for my guy's parents since it is my family tradition and an interesting conversation starter. I would say anything you bring would be appreciated.

I think it's good manners to bring a gift for each of the parents. And no, you shouldn't be expecting a gift from him for your parents.

im going with the crowd go for flowers or a little hamper thing maybe not wine if they dont drink.

As a guest, I'd bring things like drinks and foodstuffs.
