boyfriends mom is controlling and boyfriend has took his mom side

I can't believe every ones opinions' on this. That mom sounds like a crazy sociopath. If your boyfriend can't get a spine and stand up to his mother then your relationship will never exist without her. I'm an extremely independent person and would never tolerate that. I have two kids and since before they were born I feel people have been encroaching in my family's affairs. I have had many fights keeping my crazy family from pressuring my wife into doing things she doesn't want to do. But I can only justify my actions because we are totally independent. I will also say, from personal experience, that raising two children without help is very tough. But we choose to not accept help because both our family's wouldn't accept our rules.
