Silverbirch
Hi, Hoping someone can advise. I've been crying every day for around 7 weeks since the break up. I am the dumpee. I've been trying very hard, but been grieving and depressed. My face looks an absolute mess and people are noticing. I've been trying to keep my appearance okay, taking care of my hair and clothing. I'm a woman who has always taken pride in my appearance. When I caught sight of myself yesterday in a mirror, my face just looked ugly, especially around my eyes. My forehead is looking much more lined too. I don't like looking like this at all. I'm going interstate on the weekend to see my family and I don't want them to see me like this either. Anyone got tips especially the women. Thanks. Link to comment
Fukurokuju
If you can't stop crying, make sure you're taking care of yourself exactly like you used to now. Other than that, it's hard to hide extensive crying. Link to comment
annie24
Try to get some sleep. That will help. if you are really stressed, try some sleeping pills. get cucumber slices to put on your eyes to depuff them. and then wear a bit of light makeup - just enough to look fresh. get some exercise too - more water, less alcohol will help your skin. hugs Link to comment
LoveConned
You poor thing, I know how you are feeling. How about a nice facial, treat yourself, get a massage while you are at it too! Link to comment
Silverbirch
Thank you for the replies. I don't drink alcohol, but will still try and drink more water. I will try the cucumber and facials. Link to comment
ladyninja30
Use a green concealer to hide red on face and green shadows reduce the look of red in the eyes. Link to comment
fire2therain
I've always used cold lavender teabags on my eyes (i refrigerate them for a little while). It makes the puffiness go down and the lavender soothes me Link to comment
WockaWocka
The first thing I thought of when I read your message was using a cold wash cloth or a travel pack of facial wipes throughout the day to reduce surface redness. Also try to make sure you're sleeping on your back, not on your stomach (my bad habit!) When you sleep on your stomach fluids can pool in your face and enhance the puffiness. You can put a pillow partially under each side of your body to make it more difficult to turn onto your stomach when you sleep. Hope you feel better soon. xoxo Link to comment
Silverbirch
Hey thanks. I especially appreciated the hugs and xx When I go to stay with my mum, I'm going to take all my stuff for facials. Today is my last day of work for 10 days, then up to Mum's for a week on Saturday. Link to comment
AutumnBorn
I think you should address the core issue of why you can't stop crying. Try taking some B complex vitamins and some D if you don't get enough sun. Are you exercising regularly and hard? It'll help your mood and stress levels. Link to comment
Silverbirch
Have you tried it Risk? I'm seriously thinking about it. Link to comment

Silverbirch
Which particular Moogoo product do you recommend. I have been using something - a type of regenerating mask - and I also like rosehip oil at night. Link to comment
rkw
I like a white or flesh coloured eyeliner pencil to put on my lower waterline. It covers the redness and makes your eyes brighter (this was what made me socially acceptable for the first fortnight). Link to comment
Silverbirch
Oh I have a white eyeliner. I'll try it thanks. Link to comment
Yaz
MooGoo MSM soothing cream - gets rid of the red blotchies and you don't have to cover up. All natural! Link to comment
Silverbirch
Oh okay. I don't have red blothes, just when I'm tired or sad, I look older. This morning my skin looks very clear though. Link to comment

RecentlyAlone
Silverbirch, I'm totally used to the puffy eyes since I'm a pretty emotional person but this morning I woke up (after crying last night and more this morning) and I was horrified at my forehead! I'm only 27 and the lines were so defined I couldn't believe it! For the eyes the best remedy I have is cold washcloth or an ice pack to take down the swelling...and of course make up to hide the redness! Link to comment
Silverbirch
Hey Thanks Recently Alone. My eyes are looking better atm. Oh yes, I get that with my forehead sometimes too, but it goes after you have been relaxed for a while. Link to comment
