OptomisticGirl
Haha Tom's a nightmare to share a bed with really. He stretches his legs out so I'm always trying to keep warm right on the edge then if I nudge him he'll move back for a little bit but then will fall asleep and roll over again And then starts talking! Lol. According to CS I'm a bed nightmare as well. He likes to sleep at the edge of the bed on his side and I"m the kind of person I like to be close to you while we sleep. Not snuggling but like feeling your back against mine. Well in order to do so I have to sleep next to him on his side. So when he wakes up and decides to sleep on his back (the only time he makes the noise as well) I'm like right there behind him and he says I'm a bed hog! lol I was like well, if you would sleep in the middleo f the bed I wouldn't be a bed hog! OptomisticGirl
It's women like that that give us a bad name. I can't believe that... if you want a baby why not just go to the sperm bank? Why trick someone into fatherhood for the rest of their lives? I believe in karma though and she is putting WAY too much bad karma into the world to receive any good. It will come back to bite her. KH26
Haha I like to, like, cuddle in to Tom's back but can't cuddle while I'm trying to get to sleep, it's impossible for me to get to sleep like that. It gets all uncomfortable and annoying. It is! And you're right, she should just go to a sperm bank. I feel bad for this guy because they're moving in together now. She did it once, seems like it's only a matter of time now before she's pregnant again. I know accidents happen but to purposefully "forget" to take the pill without telling the guy is just wrong. She's really struggling. Her mum's basically doing all her college work, she's been living with her mum for a while now. Both her children are in and out of hospital ALL the time. Like, every week, no joke! Her sister (who's 17 I think) has recently got pregnant with child #2 and she's living at home too. Don't know what's going to happen when she does get pregnant again! OptomisticGirl
I can fall asleep cuddled but I move around a lot when I sleep, I'm constantly moving. I feel so bad for the guy as well. Has no idea what he's getting into. As I said, she's putting out loads of bad karma, at some point it will come back to bite her. Link to comment
KH26
Yeah, I think so too. I'm a bit believer in karma! Haha that reminds me. After we hadn't been together long I spent the night at his. I'm really bad at sleeping and so restless. We'd just gone to bed and I was wriggling around so much trying to get comfortable than he actually thought I was having a fit haha. Link to comment
OptomisticGirl
I"ll move around in the bed to get comfortable for like ten minutes and CS will go, "Are you down now wriggle worm?" Link to comment
sweetpea03
Oh and me and my friend are going to see My Chemical Romance on the 21st Feb for my birthday. I'm excited LUCKY!! That sounds like a lot of fun.. Link to comment
KH26
I've spent my whole afternoon looking for private doctors that aren't, like, 100 miles away. I'm quite worried about my neck, I feel like something isn't right. And I'm worried I'm going to be waiting ages for an appointment to see a consultant. I can find private doctors and the prices aren't too steep but gah they're all such a long way away. And I have no idea how to go about doing it Link to comment
KH26
LUCKY!! That sounds like a lot of fun.. I know! I've only been to one concert in my life with the same friend and it was so much fun! I can't wait. The tickets were booked yesterday, so excited Link to comment

And I have no idea how to go about doing it Well since you said the lump is on the side of your neck, it's more unlikely to be your thyroid. Does it move? or is it just stuck? It does sound like your lymph node. Where do you live? (the general area, don't want to be too nosey.) Link to comment
KH26
It moves. The doctor said something to the other doctor about it being smooth which seemed to confuse them but was panicking a bit and rushed out so didn't ask what I should have asked. Tom had a feel (he's a doctor) and he can't feel it, he can just feel that my thyroid is bigger than normal. And when the doctor was feeling on Friday he asked if where he was pressing was where the lump is and it felt too low down, like he was feeling my thyroid too. The harder lump is higher up and definitely feels like a lymph node. And it's quite painful now. I'm in the UK. Probably is actually nothing but I didn't like how concerned my doctor looked and I don't feel like I'll be able to settle till I know for sure what it is. And because it's my health which is so important I'd just be glad to pay anything to know what it is asap even if it does turn out to be something really simple like over active thyroid or something (which, tbh, seems likely). sweetpea03
Well moving is good. If it didn't move, it could be a tumor, but since it moves, I wouldn't worry about that. It's hard to say what it could be from not having seen it, but I don't think it's anything major. I'm a health science major and have been working in the medical field for a while, plus my own patient experience. V tends to ask me about medical questions before going to a doctor. lol. I don't know much about finding doctors in the UK. I'm not very familiar with it. I have a friend in the UK who goes to James Cook hospital for treatment for the same medical condition that I have. She's a sweetheart, but I feel bad that she can't get treatment sooner and more effective treatment, too. I've heard it can be difficult to get seen by a doctor for anything more than simple cases of a cold or something similar. Link to comment
KH26
Oh thanks that makes me feel better! Gah would still just like to know for sure as soon as possible though. I'm so glad we have the NHS but getting to see doctors takes such a long time. You have to wait a month for an appointment to see a GP and up to 4 months (usually) to see a consultant unless it's something urgent. I've waiting up to 3 months for blood test results before! I really have no complaints about the NHS, they've always been pretty good but sloooow lol. My mum's deaf and has been waiting a year to see someone. I've looked at Bupa (think they're the main private hospital/doctors in UK) but it all looks so complicated. Tom worked in a private clinic at the hospital he's working at now for a while, I'm going to ring him tomorrow when he's off work and ask him how you'd go about getting an appointment there. I'm waiting a week/ week and a half to see if I hear back from the hospital though, would be annoying if I paid to see a doctor then got an appointment not long after to see someone lol. Would really like to just know for sure what's wrong though to stop me worrying, I worry too much! Link to comment
sweetpea03
Wow, I couldn't wait that long. If I have a problem, I see a doctor the same week. I can't imagine waiting when I was having the pain that I did before. I know my friend has a lot of pain like I did and she's been waiting months to get treatment. That's too long to me and not worth it to save money. My health means a lot to me and I have a medical condition, so if I need something done, I'd want it done soon. I hope they call you back soon! I hate waiting around for things, especially that which concerns my health. I don't think it is anything though, just my health related opinion. Link to comment
KH26
Thanks! And that's helped a lot knowing that if it moves around it's not likely to be a tumour. Tom said something similar on Friday I think. I know, it's so annoying. You can see a GP the same day if you ring at 7am but that's only for emergency things like if you had a chest infection or something which obviously needs antibiotics straight away not in a month lol. Link to comment
sweetpea03
Yea, moving lumps usually mean a cyst, while if it doesn't move, then it can be a tumor. ugh, I feel like such a health nerd. lol. Can you make up that it is an 'emergency'? lol. Link to comment
KH26
I could actually see my GP again straight away but for things that you've had for ages they're a bit funny about you seeing them in the morning and wasting appointments (if that makes sense). Because I haven't had this ages (that I know of) then I can go again the morning when I want but just takes ages for like blood test appointments and appointments to see anyone else. I'm considering taking tomorrow morning off and going back to ask some questions, see if that helps. Think there's a sign in the surgery somewhere saying you're welcome to go back and ask about anything you're concerned about or didn't understand. Haha I'm so interested in medical stuff, comes with having a doctor boyfriend too I guess lol. I can spend ages looking at his random medical books without getting bored even though I don't understand half the stuff in them lol. Link to comment
sweetpea03
I'm very much a medical nerd, as many of my friends and family call me. I tend to watch the discovery health channel, well now it's called OWN, for fun. I love watching mystery diagnosis, and saying what I think it is before they give the answer and I've been right a number of times. Total ego boost. lol. I've also been around doctors my whole life with the medical condition I have. I have multiple friends who are doctors or are in medical school, too. I am really close with my specialists as well. I talk to one of them often, we'll text sometimes. She also helped me with one of my papers for class, as I did it on a rare medical condition and she treats them, so I got some insight from her. It was awesome. haha. I feel like such a nerd now.. Link to comment
KH26
Haha no, sounds interesting! I loved medical programmes when I was younger, was a bit obsessed. What do you want to do when you leave college? Link to comment
sweetpea03
I've been 'obsessed' with at all for as long as I can remember... lol. After I graduate, I am going for my masters in physician assistant studies(I think). I like all of the options it offers and what I can do with it, but I'm 100% sure that is what I am doing. I'm a bit undecided and can't make up my mind. I love that I can specialize in what ever area of medicine I want and if I change my mind a few years later, can easily switch fields without going into debt. I also have the option of working part-time with that career choice, so it's really a nice choice. But I don't know.. I guess I'm worried I won't make it. Link to comment
KH26
I think if you want something and are focussed on it enough then there is definitely a bit chance that you will make it! How much longer do you have left in college? (Not sure how college works over there!) Link to comment
sweetpea03
I have another 3 semesters to go, so a year and a half. Then I can start my masters degree. I would have finished my bachelors degree in 4 years, but it's soo hard to get classes. It's all overcrowded and they keep offering less and less classes with the budget crisis. ughh. So I will graduate in 4 and a half years. I'm in the last part of my 3rd year. Then the masters degree takes 2 years. I'm getting there, but still have a ways to go... Link to comment
KH26
Oh will all be worth it in the end though Link to comment
sweetpea03
I hope so! lol. I was joking around saying if 2012 happens(end of the world), I will have spent my entire life in school! ugh. not cool. Though I do enjoy most of my classes, as I do admit to being a sort of nerd in a sense. Like my determinants of health behavior class and contemporary issues in childrens health class, I love both of them! It's so interesting. Link to comment
KH26
I actually think the same thing sometimes (about the world ending and spending my life in school) haha. I guess if it does happen then we won't know about it so it's not that bad! Lol. Link to comment
