When does your SO start to grow up?

Hey everyone,

 

This is kind of a strange question .. but for those couples that have been together for a while, when have you noticed that your partner was acting more mature and responsibly?

 

I have noticed over the last 2 or 3 years especially that my 28 year-old boyfriend has grown noticeably more mature (it took a while though).. he is starting to save a lot more money, making better thought-out decisions, and taking things more seriously, like marriage and family.

 

How old were your partners when you started noticing their maturity?

hehe my first husband hasn't grown up yet! But that sounds about the right age for the more normal male population.. I think it comes with the realization when you're near 30... you're not getting any younger!

In the past 1.5 years, my boyfriend and I have grown a lot gradually over time. So, I really can't pinpoint an exact age of maturity. We still have growing to do, obviously. But, I believe we are both ahead of the pack when it comes to maturity.

Depends what you consider 'mature'. Some people think buying cars, buying houses, not going to the bar as often makes one mature. Others see it as being more independent, traveling more, not using text speak when you write emails.

I have noticed a huge difference this past year. 26-27.

His priorities have changed, his social circle has changed, he's changed with me, with his goals. The way he acts, talks, behaves.

It's almost like night and day.

My ex husband never matured. My current bf was all grown up when I met him. Honest answer, that varies from person to person. I know many men in the military or who have been in the military are more mature than the average person. However, the ex husband was an ex Marine and it did nothing for his maturity level.
