I would also like to say I would have serious concerns about dating someone who drank to the point they forgot things, even if those things weren't nasty and hateful.

DizzyDoris, I came in a wee bit late, but I think this was the best way for things to end. You don't want to be in ex-part-two situation, huh? I'm glad he seemed to take things well instead of making things difficult. I hope you're doing okay too.

Thanks for the replies, i do feel okay thanks,a bit sad, but hey ho it just wasn't meant to be.

 

I feel sad because i really thought we had a future together,we've known each other ten years. He's a great guy but just not the one for me. The guilt i felt on valentines day has turned to relief now. Im glad i was strong and didn't make up with him just because he got me flowers.

 

I hope he can sort himself out and get over his ex before he dates again.
