havefaith
Sooo.. My boyfriend and I are in a long distance relationship because of college. We have three weeks to spend together for Christmas... and I really don't want to be bleeding for one of them!! I've done the research, and I can't really come to any conclusions as there are arguments for both sides... is it safe to skip the placebo pills and start right into the active pills, just this once? Thanks. Link to comment
Hope75
Just to be on the safe side- go ahead and place a call to your doctor to double check. I know women who have done this for a vacation, or a honeymoon, myself included, with no adverse effects. I don't anticipate there would be any reason that you could not do this for just that one month, but it's always best to check with your doctor, just place a quick call. Link to comment
annie24
I have done it myself. I had a bit of spotting, but that is it. Yeah, just check with your doctor just in case.... enjoy your holiday! Link to comment
pinkelephant
for my pills, i looked at it and its totally safe (i use marvelon 28 ) as long as you skip one month only. Link to comment
scarew
As long as you have no other health risks (stroke, maybe heavy smoking, heart problems, etc). Thats why its best to check with doc. You could call a nurses helpline too... I only know the canadian numbers though. Some women try skipping it and end up getting their period anyways. Good luck tho! Link to comment
Dilly
What about using a backup method during that time, as well? (this month and next)... just to be sure. Link to comment
havefaith
We already use condoms every time, along with me taking the pill. We are kind of OCD... after one pregnancy scare, we never went back! Link to comment
Hope75
That is a good thing! Proud of you that you are being so careful. It's nice to see that kind of responsibility taken on your and your partner's behalf. Link to comment
BellaDonna
When I was on birth control pills, I would do that once in a while. I would not make a habit of it. But I don't think once in a while can hurt. You could laways call your doctor's office just to check, BellaDonna Link to comment
