HellFrost666
I was with two friends of mine the other night and one of them was going on about how much he hates that his wife closes her eyes during sex. My roomate jumped right into the conversation and said something like "I HATE when they do that, it screws with my head." So my question is, why is this such a bad thing? I never thought about it before now... My girlfriend sometimes closes her eyes, and it has never bothered me. It's strange that kissing with your eyes closed is allright, but anything passed that you have to keep your eyes open or else it's weird... I guess this is not really a personal issue, I just want to know what other people think about it. Is this a universal thing that got by me somehow? Link to comment
Shadows Light
Had a parnter that kept thier eyes closed... and yeah, never thought about it before...really.. until you mentioned it. Everyones style is different. Its a matter of personal preference in how they like to take thier enjoyment. Its kind of like letting it bother the way they eat an ice-cream cone... licking from the sides or licking from the top. Why let it bother you its the way they like to take it in. Does that make sense??? Don't nit pick it to death... just be glad that you are in LOVE. If it bothers your friend so much...I'd say he might be a bit insecure and wondering if his mate is really with HIM or imagining herself with Brad Pitt. If I close my eyes...I'm savoring the feelings. Trying to consentrate all my energy to the nerve endings of my skin. And lol..sometimes traveling with him to a different realm and place.... a secluded beach, an exotic land, stonehenge even. Link to comment
truthbetold
I've actually noticed recently that I myself have my eyes closed quite a bit during sex. Immediately after I realized it I asked my b/f if he had noticed and if it had bothered him. He said he didn't care, he didn't really notice and he closes his eyes sometimes too. It's just a thing some people do when they are feeling the pleasure. I guess it's just a preference, but just remember, it's not polite to stare either Link to comment
newts
I don't always have my eyes closed during sex, the only time I do is to build up to an orgasm, for me I have to really concentrate to have one, that is why I close my eyes, Not anything more or anything less. Link to comment
rosstheboss
all the girls i have been with close their eyes during sex. i do too but only sometimes. i always thought it is because guys are more visual and love to see the reaction of what they are doing and of course other things!! darkblue
I think it is a personal preference. And personally, I'd prefer it if my partner had her eyes closed, than having her eyes wide open the whole time. Link to comment
HellFrost666
Don't nit pick it to death... just be glad that you are in LOVE. I'm really not nit picking. I never was bothered by it, personally. My friends were talking like this is taboo or something. It probably is because of insecurity that they are so bothered... Link to comment
BellaDonna
I don't always have my eyes closed during sex, the only time I do is to build up to an orgasm, for me I have to really concerntrate to have one, that is why I close my eyes, Not anything more or anything less Same here. I never really gave it a second thought. he hates that his wife closes her eyes during sex. My roomate jumped right into the conversation and said something like "I HATE when they do that, it screws with my head." Sounds like insecurity talking on their part. Maybe they think thier parters close their eyes because they don't want to see them/don't find them attractive. Maybe they've watched porn (which rarely reflects reality) in which women kept their eyes open, looking at the camera, and now they think that's the norm. Who knows why it bothers them so.... I don't think it's anything to be concerned about though. BellaDonna Link to comment
waytoodown
I know that I almost always have my eyes closed, just because I can concentrate better on how it feels(...) . If I start thinking about something else, I'll loose interest fast, and then it well, sucks! But I know that my bf always looks at me though...lol.. I always thought it was because guys are visual! ... Link to comment
traz
My ex used to have her eyes open for the majority of the time, and I actually didn't like it very much. I like eyes closed better..lol Link to comment
cal_014
well i would of thought more people would hav there eyes closed because i feel that having ur eyes closed ur able to feel wat u r doing which i would of thought would be more arousing, but being someone that has never had sex i would only just be going by wat i hav done wen making out, and it feels better wen i hav my eyes closed Link to comment
7CardStud
it doesn't bother me. Unless she did it the whole time and started screaming someone else's name... Then I would take a second and reconsider my current situation... Link to comment
Protex
What happens when you eat something really tasty? You close your eyes and go 'mmmmmmm'. Or at least I do, o_O. Link to comment
RayKay
I think this is something that will vary from person to person. There are times I like my partner looking at me, me at them, it seems more intimate, and "open" in many ways...raw, emotional, "close"...other times it's fun to not have vision and operate more on feel, hearing and so forth. Sometimes even using blindfolds to limit vision. However, they are usually open...but there are times I close them as I love to just get the "feel" going, to concentrate fully on it and not look and notice that the table needs dusting.....kidding! But, you know what I mean. Easier to concentrate and lose self in the moment. I do know my boyfriend really likes to watch my eyes when I hit the big O though...... I think your friend may just be a little insecure and think that eyes closed means she is thinking of something else, when that is often NOT the case at all for most women I know, it's way to more or less concentrate and enjoy the moment. LadyLiberty
I close my eyes during sex and i dont do it because it feels better i wish thats why i do.I honestly wish i could keep them open during sex but i cant because i get embarrassed when i open them. i dont want to stare feel awkward when i see my partner looking at me.Its almost as if they are looking for something and i dont know what to do. so keeping them closed makes me feel more comfortable but i would love to be able to have sex and make eye contact and feel that deep connection i sometimes hear others speak about. Cynder
Wow... this is an old thread. HF, YOU ARE MISSED! As for the topic... My husband doesn't like being looked at during sex. But he's also really into S&M... looking in the eyes doesn't really go with the whole master and slave mentality. Link to comment
McCool
I keep my eyes open to look at what I'm doing or to look at the sexiness of my partner's body. Most of my gfs did eyes closed. Suits me fine I prefer not be stared at. too weird. Link to comment
