I'm sure it's a highly traumatic event that seriously undermines a woman's ability to enjoy sex. Sometimes they even dig right to the root of the clitoris to remove as much as they can... She was expressing a dislike for a cultural practice that might have started with them which is no more prejudice in criticising than criticizing anybody elses culture practice that you believe is causing bodily harm (muslims and female circumcision for instance or Christians and witch burnings). That wasn't your cue to bash everybody else... As far as female circumcision goes, this was a study in my third world countries class. They use a sharp object, a knife or sometimes a piece of glass, remove the clitoris and than sow her up most of the way. The aim is so she wont be able to orgasm. The husbands fear that if a woman can orgasm she will enjoy sex and by enjoying sex she will either 1. Be more tempted to cheat. 2. Enjoy sex with her husband thus making it more of an erotic act for her and her sexual desires rather than a holy one solely with the aim of producing children. thereforee not only does the husband not want his wife to get off but he also does not want his wife to get off using him. Female circumcision is practiced in Egypt and other parts of Africa and there was a medical debate whether or not it should be against the law for immigrants to perform in America (fortunately it is). It usually happens when the girl is very young but not a baby. I heard the screams and saw part of it in class on tv and it made me sick. I was made fun of as a kid by boys and girls alike (one girl: oh you poor thing! Was there something wrong with it?) There wasn't. My mother had a neurotic health fad, so I alone was left with a scarred, desensitized stump, of which I was bitterly ashamed all through my childhood, teenage years and still am. My desolation at the knowledge that nothing I could do could give me back what was taken from me was total and I bitterly resent the third rate sex life my mother wished on me. It gets worse. After middle age my sexual sensitivity died away completely and I became a totally unsatisfactory sexual partner. I spent a number of years restoring but it was too late and although my penis is now undistinguishable from a normal one, it is no more sensitive than a stick of celery. Another website on which circumcision was discussed quoted a lot of revealing statistics. A lot of older American men (circumcised of course) have the same problem, which accounts for the huge number of viagra pills taken in USA. Although there is a claim that circumcision protects against HIV, they should explain too why circumcised America has a much higher rate than we uncircumcised Europeans. The claim that foreskins look odd is unbelievable. Does this mean that Americans dislike the magnificent historical works of art and statuary that always show a long foreskin - or do they merely feel uncomfortable at what they're missing? My view is that the peculiar American fad in favour of circumcision is based on ignorance. Girls who react to the thought of a foreskin with EEUW GROSS! have probably never seen one and more importantly have no idea of what it's for. There are some sites (which I am not allowed to mention) which give a graphic illustration of the pleasure the guy and his female partner get from all forms of manipulation. There is also a book by Kristen O'Hara (an enlightened American woman) called Sex as Nature Intended. I will admit that my case is extreme and that there are some in UK who don't feel as badly as I do. But ask any one of them if they'd rather have their foreskin back and the answer is a resounding YES. They know what they are missing. Americans don't - and sometimes when the message comes accross from seeing Euro-porn etc, they go into a state of desolation just like mine and then into denial. Bad luck guys - BUT please don't do it to your kids. All the propaganda about dirt, health problems and so on is bunkum. In general Europe has better sexual health than the USA. Just don't forget that your doctors make an absolute fortune out of mutilating little boys so they're not about to do the ethical thing - and abide by the Hippocratic oath which starts - First do no harm. The girls I've been with who've never been with an uncut man before didn't seem to care. They may have heard that it's unclean, but they figure out pretty quickly that if the guy has good hygiene, it doesn't matter. 2. To the OP: dunno if you are cut or not, but if you are uncut, don't worry, this is never going to be an issue with any woman who gets to see it (provided you have good hygiene). And if she does make an issue out of it, you can bet she'll be pretty boring sexually, so you won't be missing much. 3. A few women have told me they can feel the difference during sex, and prefer uncut for this reason. It's probably the motion of the foreskin they are feeling (the foreskin does move as the penis thrusts and withdraws). 4. Does anyone really think that European women enjoy sex less than American women do? 5. Khaz' post (immediately above my post) makes some interesting points. I haven't looked into the link, if any, between circumcision and ED. Unfortunately, there's not a lot of incentive for the medical community or the drug companies to pursue this research because if there is a link, they stand to lose a lot (dramatic reduction in circumcision procedures and lower sales of ED drugs). 6. If it isn't causing someone medical problems, why remove part of the human body, especially a part as loaded with nerve endings as the foreskin? It just feels better, the penis glides in more smoothly, so penetration is not as painful - Usually if I haven't had sex in a little while like a week or two, when I have it, the initial penetration hurts a lot and this is minimised when there is foreskin. Pandaman211 Posted April 13, 2009 Share Posted April 13, 2009 I think its unfortunate a lot of women here in the U.S. think an uncircumcized penis is gross, OR you just feel or hear that the natural thought bias against is is that its "weird" or not "normal", since I'm guessing most men here are circumcized. I know circumcision is less prevalent in the UK and Europe, and I was looking at some women's posts that didn't care or preferred one over the other, and while some obviously didn't have a listed location, many were from Canada or UK or whatnot. And I think thats great, that its not a big deal. I'm not trying to generalize at all. I'm just saying its unfortunate a lot of people are bias and narrow minded about it, for whatever reason. No if you've experienced both, its a different story, if you haven't, I can't see how you are just in saying their gross or its weird from pictures or however else you saw it. Just my 2 cents. And for dudes out there that are self conscious, honestly if a woman doesn't like you or judge you because the look of your penis is different than most she's had, thats bs, and she may have liked you, but she obviously didn't enough for you to waste your time on. And thats for a lot of people in the US that aren't, because I know when I was still in HS a few years ago, when we had to shower after practice some guys would feel extremely uncomfortable or other guys would give them crap or say something.
