Move April or June?

Okay so I found an affordable apartment, it's a 2 bedroom i can afford on my own. I have improved my credit. I will start working with the ARMS worker in 2 weeks, somehow they are supposed to help me stay stable or notice if I'm not. I'm regularly seeing my daughter.

Now I'm debating about when to move. I'm thinking April. Gives me time to get a few more things paid, and acquire some household stuff I no longer have. Should i come up with savings too and stick to my June plan? Or get out of mom's in April?

My boyfriend likes the idea of me moving out, says he'd drive up than. Right now we are seeing each other less with him begging me every weekend to come down, which I don't do. But it's me going to him. I don't want to rush my move, i want to be prepared and as stable as possible. The place I'm looking at is market rate but affordable.

Getting excited but still have to apply.

I think both plans have merit. If you have a guarantee the place will be available in June, well you have that much longer to add to your savings. However this is only February, so April still gives you some time to collect a few necessities and save. I think it's great that you are going to move to your own place!

You always move out of Mom's prematurely and end up back there. I'd skip the idea for now, it's too focused on a guy and not financial logic. If they always have openings, why rush it? Use your vision of that place as a goal to shoot for once you won't need to question your stability.

Well I learned I need to have at least 3 months of expenses saved, ideally 6 months. So I'm going to pay off credit cards and save for 3 months of expenses because 6 will take too long, I'll be at Christmas and not summer. Mom is planning to sell her house listing it in the spring.

Talk to your worker about when to move, what you'll need, what you can budget for in terms of utilities, rent, expenses, travel etc. Are you approved to move in?

I haven't applied but I've improved my credit score. In June will be 2 years since my bankruptcy was discharged and that's generally what they look at. I've been working through budgets just opened a Roth IRA though I haven't yet funded it. I just want to have a place to save I can't touch for my future. Having 3 months of expenses isn't a huge deal because I do get disability and likely could easily find another part-time job. I know mom's house isn't the best as far as saving goes because she is retired and has spending money, so she gets me to go along with her when I'm in a different place in life. A place of building. So I'm still really looking at June. But I'll see how it goes. On the upside I can pay a credit card off tomorrow, after I deposit my winnings from the casino. Mom's influence but I actually won so I'm happy. :)
